Twin Cities Marathon - this week Chicago Marathon - 1 week out KC Marathon - 2 weeks out Our route this week is our classic 19th to 18th to Paseo North to Cliff Drive! No matter if you have 3 miles or 23 miles this is a great one! Early miles cooler at SW Blvd and Rainbow! 🗓️: Saturday October 3rd ⏰: Gather - 7:15am | Run - 7:30am 📍: 2129 Washington St KCMO ☁️: 60 degrees and clear! 📸: @em.alves crushing the Wandering Wolves trail race by @thewycowolfpack with photo by @mile90photo With distance options of: ⚡️5k (or less) ⚡️5 mile ⚡️Full main route - 14 miles ⚡️Complete early miles + main route or double up in Cliff Drive for 20+ Route link in bio - coolers every 2 miles and signs at every turn - make the route work for you!

can you run a FASTER race on LESS miles? hell yeah you can and here’s why you should stop running your body into the ground. give mad props to our girl @dog.mom.runs for smashing a 10k PR last week and even more impressive: her first negative split in 30 years. 😱 ((your best days are still ahead friends)) she had even caught a summer head cold week of. because that’s how life rolls sometimes. she released control, leaned into a race strategy and trusted her body. “I learned I shouldn’t decide the outcome of a race before it happens” ~ her 10k PR came on 3 runs a week 15-20 miles a week. yup. that’s it. and she just smashed it with a 7:58 m/m pace another minute off her 10k from earlier this year. “intentional training with a good run coach is SO underrated” each athelte will respond differently to different methods. some do better with volume and only a pinch of speed. some respond better to less volume and intentional track work. and some even better training in the woods. but i can NOT ignore the race day PRs i see from 5ks to 100-milers come more often than not after less miles and more intentional pacing polarization. it’s kinda like a magic trick. thank you Nicole for trusting me as your coach and for being a true student of the sport!! can’t wait to see what’s next for you with running cycling and swimming 👀 your best days are ahead. grab it by the horns!!! . . . . #10krace #finishlinefeels #roguerunnersquad

Are you racing the @kcmarathon on Oct 17th??? 816 Run Club is hosting the 6th annual KC Marathon course preview event on September 26th at 7:30am. We will have a 10 or 12 mile option for those racing the half and an 18 or 20 mile option for those racing the full! The majority of these routes are centered around the front half of the course w/ the longer loops getting to the back half as well. Details: 💥 Start location - Rochester Coffee in the Crossroads (home of 816 Run Club) 💥 Start time: gather 7am, run 7:30am 💥 Signs at every turn to mark the route. 💥 Water coolers every 2 miles and fully stocked aid station at mile 6/8. 💥 Raffle prizes, post run community, photos and more! It’s go time to register - see link in bio! 816 Run Club, On and @therunningwellstore are bringing you the 4th edition of 816 Relays! 816 Relays is an event that celebrates the running community and the city we love by teaming up runners of all paces to compete through the streets of KC. This round we will be offering two events: 4 x 1 Mile relay and a 2 Mile open. Run one or both! 4 x 1 Mile Relay teams: Just like past years, you will sign up as an individual and we will build the teams based on your estimated mile times. The goal is to create a competitive race where every team has a shot at the win! 2 Mile Open: want to show off your speed? This is the race for you. The second race of the night will be an opportunity for those who want to compete for themselves to race against one another.
