What an INCREDIBLE recital weekend! It was a whirlwind of a week preparing, but it was so worth it. Watching all of the dances, you could see all of the hard work these dancers and teachers have put into getting ready for the performances.

A huge thank you to the incredible teachers at @brekkedancecenter for always pouring into the students. You can truly see how much you love your students and how much they love you!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Cameron and all of the other dancers. Your presence and energy do not go unnoticed!

This year, I had the honor of seeing an extra layer of just how amazing these kids are. Another dancer was injured about a week before recital and unable to dance. Cameron took on the task of stepping in and learning the dance and performing with a group of kids she doesn’t normally dance with. While I am incredibly proud of her, it is the other dancers that really caught my attention and the stuff you didn’t see on stage that matters the most. The injured dancer was backstage with her class and cheering them on from the wings every single time. The way she encouraged Cameron and cheered her on just as much as her classmates was so special. I was also impressed by the other dancers in the dance and how they welcomed Cameron and took time to run the dance with her so that they all felt comfortable and confident going on stage together. Lastly, a shout out to all of the dancers in the wings who cheered for Cameron and the other girls all by name to help pump them up and make them feel the love and support.

This really is what it means to be a dance family. Supporting one another, no matter who is on the stage. I am so grateful that Cameron has found herself such a loving and supportive dance family!

Side note, I was terrible about getting pictures with people. I know Cameron got some pictures with other people and my brain totally forgot to take pictures too, so if you got some, please send them to me!
