$bowls&vases, Parts I and II, unfolds as a quartet composed of two contrasting duets, bound by a shared conceptual spine. In Part I, two contemporary, gymnastic movers inhabit bodies that are visibly alive yet inwardly hollow. Standing within body tape, they represent vessels emptied of spirit. Movement emerges with precision, yet carries the weight of spiritual absence. Part II mirrors this structure through a duet of hip-hop krump dancers. Though the narrative remains the same, the texture shifts dramatically. Here, the body resists stillness. It pulses, fractures, and fights in search of their spirit. The contrast between the two duets exposes the extremes of embodiment, the body as a silent container versus the body as an active force. Not an empty vase, but an overflowing bowl. The audience is invited to locate themselves within the movement: suspended in stillness, or charged with urgency and resistance. Where does the body hold you, and where does it ask you to break free? bowls&vases, Parts I and II, unfolds as a quartet composed of two contrasting duets, bound by a shared conceptual spine.
