If you experience lower back pain once the weight gets heavier…

It’s often because your body starts subtly changing the movement to compensate. And those small changes usually make the lift harder, not stronger

Part 4/4 coaching with @taylahjade.coaching

In Taylah’s case, as the weight gets heavier she starts turning more muscles on to lift it… which is right to a certain degree

But instead of bracing harder (the correct way), she starts over-arching and jamming her lower back muscles to create tension. Her spine goes from neutral to over-arched

Now, everyone has a range of neutral that suits their body, so this position might look fine on someone else. But the reason I knew this wasn’t working for her is because she started feeling pain in that exact area

This is exactly the kind of thing I help my clients clean up

Small adjustments to your setup and brace can completely change what you feel during a lift, taking it from lower back strain to strong leg drive

💌 If your deadlift feels good until a certain weight… and then suddenly doesn’t, my DMs are open to help you figure it

Your feet may be sabotaging your deadlift… again

Part 3/4 coaching @taylahjade.coaching

For a strong deadlift, we want pressure balanced through three points of the foot:
1️⃣ base of the big toe
2️⃣ base of the little toe
3️⃣ the heel

This creates a stable base, helps the right muscles turn on and allows you to push powerfully through the floor

Even foot pressure = better leg drive

But what I see most often is people shifting one way or the other

Either they rock forward onto their toes and lose pressure through the heel… or they rock back onto their heels and lose pressure through the front of the foot

Both make the lift less stable and less efficient (and nobody wants that)

Small setup details like this are often the difference between a deadlift that feels weak off the floor… and one that feels strong the moment you start pushing the world away to stand

Most people don’t even realise they’re doing this until they fix it…

➡️ Save this for your next deadlift session and notice where the pressure sits in your feet before you lift

If your deadlift still feels unstable when the weight gets heavy, send me a video and I’ll help you clean up your setup (first 10 videos only) 💌
