Competed at Canyon Clash again yesterday in the open 181- class and had a great time. @worldsstrongestmathteacher puts on an awesome contest that pushes the athletes with challenging events. I had a terrible prep and just could not be motivated to train. But I went out and gave it my best, winning 2 of the 5 events. I even put down the fastest time of all open class male athletes on the yoke and farmers medley winning a shirt from @athlete_next_door (thanks @tayler_summers!). The sand bag medley was brutal and really showed that I was not prepped! In the end, I got 2nd (aka last) in my class but it felt good to compete again and was nice to know that I can still perform even when everything doesn't go to plan in the build up. A huge thanks to @rachelmbaldwin_ and Griff for being there to support me and cheer me on. I feel that this has rejuvenated my motivation to get in the gym and work hard. Lastly, well done to @david_habiboo for his win putting up a monstrous deadlift, and hitting the bag toss when it mattered.

A huge thanks to all of the sponsors and volunteers for helping make this show great. My two years at Canyon Clash have probably been my two favorite shows that I've done. JD knows how to run a show and brings in a great team to help out. It's always a good time seeing friends that you make in this sport. We're all a little odd, but we don't mind. Really hoping this show is back next year.
