Congrats to our @uncw_soccer Spring 2026 graduates! They represented our team with spirit and class, both on and off the playing field. They are four very unique personalities that made huge impacts on the field and in the locker room. After a ton of hard work, and plenty of ups and downs, they graduate as CAA CHAMPIONS. I am so deeply grateful for the time we had TOGETHER and can’t wait to see what’s next. Alex, Ayanna, Nicole, and Taylor, you will be missed more than you can ever imagine. Fly high SEAHAWKS!

🏆Unsung Hero Award - This award recognizes the accomplishments of a student-athlete who helped their respective team achieve success in ways that may not always be measured by statistics. The award seeks to acknowledge an individual who has not been adequately recognized during their athletic career, yet has always been exceptional representatives of the UNCW Athletics Program.

Female Finalists:
Maris Grant - @uncwvolleyball : A hometown girl who bleeds navy and teal, Maris is the heartbeat of UNCW volleyball. She brings an unmatched energy to the court and the weight room alike, constantly pushing her physical boundaries to elevate the team. Maris is always going above and beyond to be a good teammate, encouraging those around her, finding ways to help out whether it be in the community, with donors, setting up equipment, etc.

Katelyn Hubbard - @uncwwtennis : Katelyn is a quiet, lead by example teammate. She has silently been accumulating so many awards and opportunities that she is well deserving of an unsung hero award. She trains hard and spends a lot of extra time outside of practice to get better in everything that she does. Her fitness is a big part of her tennis and she likes to wear her opponents down. She is a big part of the team’s success this season.

Taylor O’Brien- @uncw_soccer : Taylor is the epitome of UNCW student-athlete, Team Captain. 4 year high impact player. 2025 CAA Regular Season Champion, Allstate NACDA Good Works Team award winner. SAAC Executive Board Member. 59 matches played. 26 career starts. 3 goals and 2 assists as a defender. 2622 total minutes played. She combines athletic leadership, academic excellence and a passion for community engagement to have an undeniable impact on the program.

Kylah Silver - @uncwwbb : Kylah had a major impact on her team on and off the court, leading the Women’s Basketball program in following categories: games played, games started, points this year, rebounds this year, second in overall steals, third in blocks, third in assists, second in scoring average, 1 X CAA Co player of the week.

Winners will be announced at The Sammys on Wednesday, April 29th!
