dear softball -

saying goodbye to my first love has never been harder. softball has taught me many of life’s lessons, through love and through loss. not only has softball instilled in me the values of hard work, dedication, consistency, and compassion, but it also brought me unforgettable memories and amazing relationships. thank you to my coaches for believing in me, pushing me, making me the woman i am today, and for, of course, picking out my bridesmaids. if i could live my life over again, i know i would choose this sport every time. since my parents laced up my first clear until i walked off the field for the last time, softball has been my home. to all the women continuing their careers and to all the girls who may be just beginning, i urge you to cherish every swing, every cheer, and every moment because it truly does go by fast. as andy bernard said in the office, “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.” thank you softball. and when the next girl chooses to pick up a glove, i hope she falls as deeply in love with this sport as i did. 🩷🥎 #11out
