The countdown is on for state solo qualifying round.

On October 23-24, more than 940 soloists will compete across two host communities, Newton and Pella, for the ISDTA State Solo Qualifier. Events will be held at Newton High School, Berg Middle School, Pella High School, Pella Middle School and Pella Jefferson Intermediate School. “These events have grown so large they now fill multiple venues in two communities,” 4 of these soloists are Emma Brockhohn, Alaina Mead, Taylor Salow and Tess Intorf. All 4 dancers will compete on the 23rd at Pella Jefferson Intermediate. Dana Andrea, Executive Director Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Association stated, “It’s a great reflection of how far dance in Iowa has come and the dedication of our dancers, coaches, and families.”
Solo routines are evaluated by professional judges from across the United States. The top ten soloists in each class will advance to the State Finals, held December 3-4 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. Last year 3 Maquoketa Valley dancers advanced on.
Spectator admission is $10 per person (one-day) and a live stream of the competition is available for purchase at www.isdtalive.com, where fanscan also order official state apparel and digital recordings. Award ceremonies will be streamed free of charge and will start around 4pm.#statedance #isdta @isdta
