BBC Introducing NI host Taylor’s mum and dad made many sacrifices to help him on his journey into the creative industries, including his mum selling her car…twice!

Taylor also lets me in on the practice he did in the car with his mum way before he even had his role of producer and host!

OBSESSION ON BBC RADIO!! 🖤

Still such a buzz hearing my music played on BBC! 🤘

No label. No management and no PR Just me doing it all myself and trying to get my music out there. Moments like this make all the hard work worth it! 🖤

OBSESSION is the focus track from my new EP Bad Decisions and I'm so excited to see where it goes!

🎧 Go give it a listen — link in bio! 🔥

Thank you to everyone supporting me on this crazy DIY music journey. 🖤

Thanks very much to @taylorarthurjohnson for his kind words on BBC Introducing last Saturday!🩵
There’s no feeling like hearing your music on the radio, especially on as big of a platform as BBC Intro. We are super grateful.

‘Play Pretend’, our debut EP is available now on all platforms x

If you’re making music and hoping to get it heard on BBC Introducing NI, this is worth saving.

In this clip, presenter Taylor Johnson explains what he actually looks for when artists upload their music.

The song is obviously the most important thing, but don’t neglect the information around it.

A few of Taylor’s tips:

• Tell them who you are
• Add your musical influences
• Explain the story behind the song
• Make any release date or embargo clear
• Add a good photo and short bio
• Include the details that make you or your band interesting

Basically, give the presenter something they can use to talk about you on the radio. Your story can help make you stand out.

If you’re making music, get onto the BBC Introducing Uploader and get your songs in front of the BBC Introducing NI team.

Shout to to @taylorarthurjohnson from BBC Introducing NI (the dote of the broadcast world) for not only playing the latest track by our recent songwriting alum @youreagoodswim but also for his lovely words about our camp!

Taylor and his wider team (looking at you, @bettsk!) have always been such champions of the Irish music scene and we’ve really felt the love every time they have played the tracks that have been created at our camps or by our attendees in general. We appreciate you guys!

Our upcoming camp for writers and producers is still open for a short while for our penultimate camp of the year at the award-winning @analoguecatalogue, taking place from the 13-15th November - be sure to follow the link in our bio to join us ✨

Massive thanks to @taylorarthurjohnson for playing Sink Like a Stone last night on @bbcintroducing and for the album shout out.

I caught the show live - I'm immensely proud to have nearly got him to drop an F-bomb on air.

The album release is getting close now... The Mountains Sure Don't Give A Damn About The Sea is out on 30th October.

What a year it's been.
