God continues to do big things here. A Èl sea todo la gloria.

“Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭

On the sidelines, encouraging the athletes, this was the verse I kept repeating to them. I quickly realized I needed to hear it too. My heart hurts in so many ways from this trip, for so many people and for my own situation. So many times I felt weak as a leader. I needed to be reminded it was never going to be me that did this work, but Him. Thank you Jesus for humbling me and showing me so much grace.

“Alégrense siempre en el Señor; otra vez les digo: ¡Alégrense! Que su gentileza sea conocida por todos. El Señor está cerca. No se inquieten por nada; más bien, en toda ocasión, con oración y ruego, presenten sus peticiones a Dios con acción de gracias. Y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guardará sus corazones y sus mentes en Cristo Jesús”
Filipenses 4:4-7.

The big W is what we like to call it: Worship. There are no amount of wins or losses that should stop us from giving God the glory He deserves. Worship when it’s hard. Worship when it feels impossible. Worship when it hurts. Throughout the duration of Puerto Rico, I have learned the many components of Worship. I have also learned what it means to lean on community and be patient with those around me. Being patient when working with teams in sports, being patient with God’s timing for my life, and being patient in receiving the gifts that are yet to come are things apart of a process bigger than what I could ever imagine. It is also a fruit that is so worth it in the end. Ultimately, patience is so important in navigating life. Without it, comes missing out on new perspectives, possibly ruining a beautiful experience for others, and feeling an absence of God’s voice. Final thank you to AIA, all of the athletes I’ve met along the way, all of the donations I’ve received, and God for this experience. Puerto Rico, te echaremos de menos🫶🏽
