Squad Basketball is thrilled to announce our partnership with Grays Park Basketball Academy. Founder Saad Fadl Alla has shown tremendous commitment to the Vancouver community through grassroots basketball and exceptional player development. We're also thrilled to have Coach Ivy join the program. Coach Ivy brings a proven resume of player development and a sincere dedication to youth sports in our community. Original squad members and high school coaches Taylor and Ira bring that big sis mentor and guidance to the fold. Together, the Grays Park Squad will now provide our community with a comprehensive Girls basketball program from grassroots to elite programs. We're excited to launch this program with proven and caring coaches, who foster a fun and competitive environment for our young athletes to flourish. U10-U14 tryouts start August 26 & August 27th at St Pats HS in Vancouver. Registration is open. Come and join the Squad!

Taylor Cagampan, Notre Dame Graduating Class of 2023, is the South Burnaby Metro Club Les Tarnowski $1000 Basketball Bursary recipient of 2023.
•
Taylor has contributed immensely to our Community Basketball Program since 2013. First as an SBMC player from grades 2 to 8, followed by being a big part of the leadership and mentoring team. She was awarded First Honours early and later excelled to Principal’s List standings in grades 10, 11 and 12. Taylor has worked hard on the basketball court earning many MVP, All-Star and Player of the Game awards as well as being appointed team captain of the Notre Dame Senior Girls (5th place AA 2023 Provincials) Basketball team. In September 2020, she started volunteering at Bonsor on Saturday nights for 4-5 hours: coaching practices and games, refereeing U11 game days, taking attendance, handing out uniforms and scorekeeping for U13 and U15 games. She continues to inspire players as the Head Coach of the current ND8 Girls basketball team. You can find her at SFU taking Health Sciences courses to later continue into nursing and medicine.

“Ms Taylor is of exemplary character, has a terrific capacity for empathy, with great leadership skills and a heart for life of purpose and meaning. I have no doubt that she will make an effective contribution to the world around her and would most definitely be an excellent university student.” -Coach Norman Roberts, Head Coach SBMC Girls Basketball
