Did you make it to Sea Salt's Closing day? 👇

Minneapolis showed up for the last day of the 2026 season at Minnehaha Falls. We stood in line and it was worth it. 😋

The bands played while the menu sold out and the beer kept flowing. We got to take it all in with our friends @cheeto952, Nights like this are why we love Minneapolis and what summer in the city is all about.

Thanks for a great season @seasalteatery . See you next spring.

Tomorrow is the last day of Sea Salt. 🌊

October 4th is closing day at Sea Salt Eatery in Minnehaha Falls, and they're sending the season off with live local music all day: Another Heaven, Ukrainian Village Band, Bottle Rocket, Taylor James Donskey, Rusty Buckle, Liza Scott, and Nate P. Plus $3 Chill City Chuggers from Fulton.

If you're from Minneapolis, you feel this one. Sea Salt is the taste of summer in this city. Crab cakes on the patio with the creek running behind the building. That line out the door on the first hot Saturday in May. It is as Minneapolis as the falls themselves.

The forecast is doing its part for the sendoff: sunny, 69 degrees, light breeze.

I'll be there for the final hours, or posted up at B Square. If you see me, say hi.

One more order of clam fries before the long wait til spring. See you at the falls.

Sunday was day three of Great River Folk Festival in La Crosse Wisconsin, and the first set I caught was a rounds with the theme of songwriting. Duluth artist Ross Thorn, Maya de Vitry from Nashville and the Twin Cities’ own Taylor James Donskey shared bits of insight about their process and inspiration but mostly let their remarkable songs speak for themselves, which was perfect. Three very distinct styles somehow sounded like they were meant to be on the same stage, and they played off each other’s moods and themes the way the best rounds performers do!

It sure feels like all of my dreams are coming true. I can’t thank you all enough for coming to the release show and for taking a listen to the EP/buying it on Bandcamp. I hope it hits you in the gut in the good kind of way and WOW I am still processing all of the magic. The amount of love I have received cannot be contained within my physical body and I just keep on crying happy tears.

It was the best feeling in the world to be up there finally celebrating the massive amount of heart and time and intention and WORK that went into everything from everyone involved. I still get weepy about how much they have believed in me/my music.

More from the show to come but for right now I want to shout out the fine folks I had the absolute honor of sharing the stage with and recording the EP with 💖 Gems I tell ya.

None of this would be what it is without you, and you have truly honored the stories these songs tell. I’ve poured my soul into them and you have given them their heartbeat. Thank you forever @kaibrewster @frankymoscow @sethduin @brettbjornrud @taylorjamesdonskey 🙌🏼👏🏼🥳💕

Thank you for this beautiful video @katytessmanmusic 🥹🤗

Thank you for having us @icehousempls ✨

What an amazing night of music at Laura Hugo's EP release! This was my first time seeing a show at Icehouse and it absolutely lived up to the hype.

Eldest Daughter kicked things off and she was outstanding - fantastic vocals coupled with very lyrical imagery. I immediately purchased "Cactus Magnet" on Bandcamp and you should too if you haven't already.

I wanted to take some video but I realized at one point that I was maybe sitting next to her parents and it felt a little weird to take a video of their child (presumably their eldest daughter) while sitting next to them.

Jillian Rae and Eric Martin's performance was particularly special to me personally in that they made it clear how Operation Metro Surge impacted them as artists, as creators giving a voice to our community at large. As someone who works in immigration law and who struggled emotionally at times over the last six months, it was soul-enriching to experience their performance. #StandUpForYourNeighbors

Here's a fantastic rendition of their cover of Prince's "When Doves Cry" from last night. It goes without saying that Jillian is a vocal powerhouse.

Laura Hugo! Her EP is just really really good. The live experience was even better. Assembling a group of musicians at that level means you are a special artist and it was really great to see such a great turnout for a celebration of her music. "Radio" and "Tonight" are my favorite tracks from her EP which you should go buy on Bandcamp.

Thanks to all of these talented performers for feeding and enriching our souls last night!
