Day Five & Six | San Juan Islands

After the energy of Victoria, the San Juans felt quieter—measured by tides instead of schedules.

We spent two days on the water with Captain Gabe and his adorable co-captain, Maisha (the four-legged first mate featured in these photos). We watched humpback whales greet us with powerful pectoral fin slaps, spotted foxes along the shoreline, and were reminded how humbling it is to witness wildlife in its own home.

What made the experience unforgettable, though, wasn’t just the whales.

Gabe welcomed us to his cabin, where we camped, wandered the trails, and ended our evenings watching the sun melt into the water. It felt like stepping into a slower way of life—one where conversations lasted longer, sunsets became the evening’s event, and no one seemed in a hurry to be anywhere else.

Some places leave you with photographs.

Others leave you with a pace of life you hope to carry home.

Fun time with family celebrating @digitalmarketingdj birthday — thank goodness @dionnebailey206 only put 3+6 candles🎂on the cake — she would have burned herself really bad if she put all 36 candles on the cake 🎂
