On Thursday night we held our Melbourne/Naarm premiere of ‘Taking the Channel.’ Around sixty people filled Patagonia and were welcomed with wonderful tunes by @tazflower_, heard from a panel of blockade attendees after the screening, and we also held a raffle for some neat Patagonia merch (thanks Patagonia!).

Your style:

"My style of music is genre-bending at its core. I love trying to challenge myself to piece together styles that sound good to my ear. I’ve been described as fitting into R&B/Soul, bedroom pop, Bossa Nova and ultimately my music stems from jazz guitar playing."

Your influences:

"My biggest influences range from legends like Wes Montgomery to more contemporary artists such as D’Angelo or Sade and then to even more modern artists such as King Krule or Steve Lacy.

"I am constantly inspired by my friends in my local scene who are creating music and leaning into their own unique sounds."

Your pick:

"An emerging Australian artist I think more people should know about is Jib! His intricate guitar work and warm soulful melodies from the heart reflect a deep sense of care for the lands we live on, as well as a reflection of how we ourselves can care too. Not to mention his 8-piece live set, which feels like an orchestra you can boogie along with!"

WE ARE SHATTERED… BUT WE PARTIED OUR LITTLE SOCKS OFF!! 😂🪩🎉

CARFEST you were an absolute BLAST!!

We worked hard, we created A LOT, we laughed A LOT… and when the work was done, we definitely made the most of festival life! 💃🕺✨

There’s something pretty special about working alongside people you love, creating joy all day and then heading out together to dance the night away. ❤️

Our feet hurt, our voices have gone, we’re running on very little sleep and we may need approximately a WEEK to recover… 😂

But would we do it all again?

ABSOLUTELY!!
