We did it. Groot was laid to rest in the best fashion we could come up with. We built him a box. We gave him sticks and toys and treat. Nick cut him a sign to go on it. And Ray brought him home from the vet and put him in the truck at Nick’s shop and we drove him home with his windows down and the sun on his skin. And we buried him with some of the people he loved the most around - of course we were missing so many of those people but I know they all would have been there if they could. Thank you to the THOUSANDS of people who have reached out. Groot was loved. There were only a handful of people who- including those who are associated with the cruel act - are defending what happened. But we know the truth. The same people who went and told neighbors their little dog might be roaming because it was in heat, allegedly, are the ones who shot our dog and of course they say they hope this added extra nonsense passes soon. But we know this isn’t added extra nonsense. This was the life of one of the most loved dogs. We know Groot wasn’t on his property own property when shot. And that sucks. But what you all need to realize is that if that’s 100% cause for shooting a dog - ALL of us are subject to losing a pup. Because if you live in areas like we do - dogs roaming are not uncommon. And these people let their dogs roam all the time. To us - it was an unspoken agreement that our dogs were all safe. They didn’t have to worry when their dogs came on our property. And we didn’t think we had to either. This isn’t anything new. This was a random act of aggression that led to loss of life. Other states have laws that give stronger protections for pets, I’m learning. I’ve reached out and started the process of moving forward with justice. But if for some reason there isn’t justice on this case for Groot, because of the lack of law - then I’m prepared to go to the next level of changing that fact. No. It won’t be easy. I don’t even know if it’s possible. But I’ll try Because good things don’t happen when things are easy. I’m sorry you all keep seeing these posts. But we won’t let Groostys death be for nothing. Thank you all again! We love you. 🖤 the added audio is perfect.

If you needed me this past week and I didn’t answer - sorry. It’s been busy 😂 Spent 1 full week not doing any “real” work but doing A LOT of work. Shop projects, house projects, and a lot in between. ATR HQ is really taking shape now!

My Aunt came down for a week and my friend MC for a few days. We built walls in my shop, hung drywall, tore paneling off walls in the shop, made multiple supply runs, painted walls and built furniture in the new house, and then ended the week with a major bathroom redo in my grandmas rent house. We thought we were just replacing tile, then we found a water leak that had caused a lot of damage so we had to rip out both layers of the subfloor, plus repairing joists and building new bracing before we could lay new subfloor and retile. We’ve built our resumes up with skills this past week - but now I’m playing catch up everywhere else

As a side note - I never had the chance to make some fun year end recap posts because well… it’s been busy. But those are coming in too now 😂
