Pizza in hand while playing is the new beer in hand! First win of the season, great playing and great fun! Peep the casual that’ll do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ at scoring a 10. Great play in Cappy’s book.

It’s been a week since I’ve returned from my very first Dragon Con, and I’m still processing just how amazing it truly was. I had amazing roomies who not only shepherded me from place to place but also made me fell extremely welcome, comfortable and loved. Not only did I get to slip back into my Maureen Johnson costume, something I hadn’t put on since my late teens, but I was also blessed with the opportunity to borrow beloved costumes and accessories so I could join in on all the photoshoot fun. And speaking of photoshoots my very talented friends took some amazing photos of me in those costumes. But most importantly I got to spend time with people I adore, and don’t see nearly enough, I got to “Gamble for Charity” and eat what I am convinced were the world’s tastiest sweet potatoes. I can’t wait to go back next year for even more fun and silliness. And Sweet Potatoes.

Right out of @dragoncon and straight into @hotsytotsyburlesque Tribute to 60 years of @startrek ! It’s always an amazing time sharing the stage with these beautiful Artists (in a standing room only house, at that) but this one was extra special! A 2 year long gestating idea born of a silly joke finally had its first flight. Thanks so much to @sirgogogadget for brining the Sisko/Picard debate duet to life with me! What say we do it again next month? 😉🖖🏾 #startrek #tribute #cosplay #startrekcosplay #nerdlesque

@dragoncon #karenselfie time! The horizontal ones got cropped; I’ll put them up in stories. Thanks to the large groups who indulged me; especially the #firefly group, who was new to my antics! #dragoncon Photo of me taking the cap group selfie is by David Skirmont!

I could not be happier with the turnout for last night’s @startrek Strange New Worlds S4 Premiere Party!! Filled the room to overflow! The first episode of the season was the best kind of bat-cray awesome and the vibe in the room was electric from start to very late finish! I’m looking forward to seeing how the season turns out. Congrats to our raffle prize winners: Dayna, Jessica, Janet, Francisco and Angelo! And trivia winners Team Voyager! Huge special thanks to Ernesto, Marina, Tara for donating some great items to our fundraiser. Cassandra for working the raffle and our illustrious quizmaster and quizmaster “apprentice” Angelo and Tara. We seriously couldn’t have had the same night without you. Also thanks to the gang at @mchalesnyc for being our Geek home-away-from-home for these events coming up on 9 years now. Next up: GeekLifeRules: @nycosplaycabaret - Tribute to Star Trek’s 60th Anniversary on August 21st at The Rat NYC! Hope to see you there! NOTE: As always, feel free to tag anyone I missed and share w/credit: @geekliferules Thanks #startrek #StrangeNewWorlds #WatchParty #cosplay

DCM @ucbtny was so much fun! Worth the near heatstroke, truly. Got a parents’ night out, met up with some internet friends and met some new folks, got my prompt used, and brought a child-crafted stuffed fox on an outing to try to give to @brennanleemulligan because I promised my kiddo I would try 🤪 Plus, Knicks in 5! 🏀
