POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Every ambitious innovation journey begins with a small seed. Ours began in a small village, with a dream of building reusable rockets and making space access more affordable.

During his school years, our founder received the INSPIRE National Fellowship from the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. This early encouragement became one of the important stepping stones in his journey, nurturing his scientific curiosity and strengthening his ambition to build something meaningful.

That early encouragement helped strengthen our conviction, nurture our ideas, and lay the foundation for a bootstrapped deep-tech startup. Over time, continued support and the broader innovation ecosystem helped that initial seed take root, grow, and evolve into Abyom SpaceTech & Defence.

Today DST, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, has featured Abyom’s journey in its Annual Report. From an early fellowship to developing rocket propulsion technologies, testing infrastructure, and reusable launch systems, our journey has been one of learning, perseverance, and continuous progress.

We're grateful to DST for being part of our journey and to everyone who has contributed to our progress along the way. What began as a small seed is growing into something much bigger, and we know there is still a long way to go.

₹1 lakh crore for R&D and innovation. Is your startup ready to tap into it?

The Research, Development and Innovation Fund (RDIF) opens up a significant funding opportunity for startups building R&D-intensive technologies across deep tech and strategic sectors.

As Shri Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Secretary, Technology Development Board @tdbgoi , points out, strong technology is only the starting point. Market opportunity, competition, business potential and the team’s ability to execute matter too.

For founders building deep tech, understanding where your startup fits is the first step.

🇮🇳🇫🇷 Three days. Countless conversations. One shared vision for the future of innovation.
The #DhruvaSpace team has been in Nice, France, engaging with global industry leaders, investors, policymakers, and innovators shaping the future of #DeepTech and #Space.

Observed under the India–France Year of Innovation, #BharatInnovates2026 showcased the strength of India’s innovation ecosystem on a global stage, while reinforcing the strategic ties between two nations that have shared over 60 years of collaboration in Space.

As the Space sector enters an energetic era of international cooperation, forums such as Bharat Innovates play an important role in bringing together stakeholders across Government, industry, academia, and capital markets to exchange ideas, forge partnerships, continue ongoing dialogue, and unveil new opportunities for innovation.

For Dhruva Space, it was an opportunity to contribute to conversations around the future of Space infrastructure, satellite technologies, and international collaboration, while representing the momentum of India’s rapidly evolving NewSpace ecosystem.

Thank you to the Ministry of Education (GoI), the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, and the Bharat Innovates team, for this valued platform.

🛰️ It was a pleasure to host IN-SPACe's Dr. Vinod Kumar, Director - Promotion Directorate, and Shri Yudhishtir J, Assistant Director - Promotion Directorate, at Dhruva Space HQ recently.

The visit sparked engaging discussions around the momentum being built across India’s Space Tech ecosystem by both public and private stakeholders, alongside conversations on Dhruva Space’s full-stack offerings, ongoing projects, long-term roadmap of ambition including Project Garud which recently received support from RDIF.

As India’s Space ecosystem continues to evolve, institutional support and mentorship from entities such as IN-SPACe create the confidence for private players to innovate boldly while also thinking long-term. Our team remains deeply thankful for the guidance, encouragement, and collaborative spirit extended along the journey.

Under the Government of India’s Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme, five indigenous technology projects were selected for agreement signing, and four of them are from the IAN Group portfolio: EndureAir Systems Pvt. Ltd., Dhruva Space, e-TRNL Energy, and Noccarc.

From autonomous aerial logistics and satellite infrastructure to advanced battery innovation and portable critical-care systems, these startups are solving real problems by leveraging technology and innovation, including in areas aligned with India’s national strategic imperatives.

Deeptech is never an easy path. It takes years of R&D, patient execution, and conviction to keep building through uncertainty. That is what makes this moment so special.

Seeing 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 selected under the RDI framework is a proud reminder of the kind of founders and technologies emerging from India today. These entrepreneurs are thinking long term and creating solutions that can strengthen India’s capabilities while also competing globally.

India’s next wave of indigenous innovation feels both promising and deeply important.
