In between sips of delicious Italian wines, “Where did the summer go?” was the question on everyone’s lips at James Suckling’s Great Wines Italy 2025 tasting in New York City. Well-attended by the wine trade and consumers, Great Wines Italy 2025 felt like the unofficial kickoff of the wine events season in NYC. Suckling hosted the two-day event at The Altman Building. I attended the first day of Great Wines Italy 2025, and it was wonderful to connect with colleagues and many of Italy’s top wine producers. Here are a few photos that capture the festive mood. The wine world’s OGs were out in full force on Monday at the Chianti Classico Consortium’s 100th Anniversary Celebration held at The Pool in Midtown Manhattan.

Top producers from the region were in attendance along with some of the finest industry professionals from New York City and beyond.

🍷Sipping in September! Positive vibes and superb wines were flowing at James Suckling’s “Great Wines of Italy” tasting in NYC this week. This festive event kicked off the start of the fall wine season in NYC. A heatwave was raging outside but inside the Altman Building we enjoyed a delicious escape to Italy. Loved seeing some of my favorite wines and people. Discovered some great new Italians wines and met some lovely new people too. Watch the reel to see the beautiful wines and beautiful smiles.
