https://youtu.be/3m-az7KJYlI?is=Ys2xm-RzNAS6pBkS - Last night, I had a dream where I was doing all kinds of things instead of making music. I was in a massage therapy clinic, and suddenly, I saw the singer from Groundation #harrisonstafford walk past me in my dream. I told myself I wasn’t going to follow him, because I had already tried and couldn’t make it work.

Then, in the dream, I realized: I need to take music seriously instead of going in every direction, because this is my path. 🎶

Believe me, I didn’t plan any of this… but by pure coincidence, I found an old video on my hard drive from the day I played on stage with the original members of Groundation in Nancy, France, back in April 2015 — right next to the music school I was attending few years before playing with them. 🤯

Finding that video immediately reminded me of the dream I had the night before. So I decided to play along with the concert and film it. 🙏🏽

Here’s “Wanna Know”, with me on drums (playing this particular song again for the first time in a very long time). 🥁♿🔥

Sometimes life sends you a reminder exactly when you need it. Maybe this is mine. ❤️‍🔥

Always a good time playing at @moodysbistrobarbeats! After the show, I was talking to some folks in the audience and one asked me how I got into reggae… I proceeded to tell the story from when I was 17, my friend @tubbyloveofficial giving me a Groundation album… that’s where I started to fall in love… little did I know many years later, I’d be living in Tahoe and playing with Groundation’s long time drummer, @te_kanawa aka Rufus…. One thing that always blew my mind about Rufus’s playing was his creativity with his fills… simultaneously roots af, but also unique and sophisticated…. This one blew my mind last night so much that I forgot the words to this song I wrote with my sis @joannateters 😫

@jasonrobinson413's solo on "Merry Go Round" by @instagroundation. It isn't often you get these kinds of spotlights in reggae. Not a lot of bands had the exploration and freedom Groundation brought to the table. From "Young Tree" and on, they were a mainstay when it came to innovation in reggae music. Still one of my favorite bands of all time, and one of my greatest inspirations. Shoutout to @silversteinworks for making playing that much easier on this "Titanium" ligature. Feels like a ghost is chillin on my mouthpiece 🤙🏽

The ideal lineup (well, maybe add a beer too) for tonight’s jam, “A Standard Evening With The Chris Clark Trio” 😍🎺 Stop by LPU tonight at 7:30pm to see Chris Clark, Hans Halt and Rufus Haereiti! See you there 🪐
