What would you name this Mothman?! He looks like a Doug to me. The Mothman first gained notoriety in Point Pleasant, West Virginia in 1966. Witnesses described a towering, man-shaped creature with enormous wings and glowing red eyes, lurking near an old TNT factory, chasing cars down lonely backroads, and watching from the shadows.

For thirteen months, fear gripped the town. Then came December 15, 1967 — the night the Silver Bridge collapsed, killing 46 people. After that tragedy, the sightings stopped. Locals began to whisper that the Mothman wasn’t just a monster… but a warning.

Over time, the legend grew, the Mothman was thought to be a dark omen said to appear before catastrophe, seen across the world before disasters both natural and man-made. The mystery was immortalized in The Mothman Prophecies (2002), a chilling film based on the 1975 book of the same name by parapsychologist and Fortean author John Keel.

What do you think the Mothman is? A demon? A messenger from another realm? A hoax? Or something else?
