hot girl summer of…
a giant warehouse of frozen meat catching on fire for 8 days in my neighborhood, hanging out with all my new nieces and nephews, an impulse tattoo, endless tarot time, a record breaking Kickstarter, antiquing and finding weird treasures, a night in the ER and the discovery of a massive ovarian cyst that is getting evicted in two weeks!

It’s almost time to celebrate the best mom (&/or mimi, mops, grandma, aunt, etc.) you know! Mother’s Day is May 10. This year, forgo TJ’s flowers and give her some of NELA’s best experiences. From custom bracelets by @keke_forkeeps , to an amazing private photo session with @emily_berkey , perfect nails by @eloornailbar , the tat of her dreams by the incredible @tealeigh , a sense of community with @babystepsla , a shoppy-shop morning at @shop.lavecina , peace and productivity at @meadowhlp , or a custom coffee date with yours truly, these options definitely won’t wilt on the counter.

A group of amazing neighbors have been raising funds through GoFundMe to support community members in Stevens Square-Loring Heights who are need of rent support due to ICE operations in our city.

From the organizers:
"We are a group of community members who saw the urgent need for monetary support in the Stevens Square and Loring Heights neighborhood in Minneapolis so we decided to come together to raise funds for those affected by the ongoing attacks by our current administration during this federal occupation of our city.

We live in a small, but densely populated slice of Minneapolis, and with over 4,000 residents in the area we know there are many in need of help. The funds will be given to anyone who lives in the Steven's Square and Loring Heights neighborhood and whose income or ability to work are affected by the federal occupation.

Although our focus is rent relief the funds could also be used for groceries, bills (phone, electric, gas, etc.), personal needs (for self, kids, pets, etc.), late fees for past due bills/balances, gas money, legal fees, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to read this! We deeply appreciate every donation, every link share, and every effort you make to support all of us in Minneapolis. We've really been going through a very hard time and the residents of Steven's Square and Loring Heights greatly appreciate any and all support.

with love and rage,
Steven's Square community members”

To support, scan the QR code, go to bit.ly/SQLHRentRelief, and sharewidely!

*SSCO is sharing this fundraiser on behalf of community members who are initiating and managing this effort. Please send any questions to sqlhrentrelieffund@proton.me.

And just like that—year two of the Kinda Good Tattoo Convention came and went. Every time this weekend rolls around, it gives me the same feelings as childhood summer camp. Months of anticipation, prep, new art, merch, booth design, outfits, meals, you name it.

Then suddenly it all flew by — 48 hours of work and play blurred together. Old friends flying in from every corner of the world, new ones finding their way to each others tables, all of us doing what we love until our bodies are toast and our hearts are overflowing.

I love this craft. I love these people. I love this chaotic, beautiful little world we choose to belong to. Feeling so, so lucky 🎲

❤️‍🔥KINDA GOOD WAS SO AWESOME!❤️‍🔥
Thank you so much to the 35 people that got tatted with me at the convention, to all those who signed up, to all of you who came to share a moment, get a bandana or a sticker or a ceramic, encourage me with your kind words, to my regulars that came during their birthday to get tatted with me… I seriously ended the weekend feeling so seen as an artist. My cup so full. So much human connection and magic. Thank you!!
Shoutout to my amazing tent mate Sofia and our tent helpers Diana and Dimitri! Had SO much fun with the Latino vibes, cracking jokes in Spanish and having a great time with our guests!
Thank you to the mgmt team at No Good for the effort every year at organizing and improving KG, creating a solid foundation for artistry, creativity, connection and self-challenge. You set the stage and the opportunity for us to show up with our A Game. I can’t be happier to be a part of this awesome and talented community. You fkin rock! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
