🇺🇸 After 5 days of racing, the smiles on the faces of the skippers are still there 😀, for some of them despite the lack of wind and the tiredness that is making itself felt.

Oliver Heer and his team invited @fifthswitzerland on a tour of their IMOCA.

Oliver tells us how he sails his boat and how demanding it is. Can you imagine sleeping no more than 4 hours per day with a maximum 30 minutes at the time?

All aboard! Fifth Switzerland jumps aboard Oliver Heer’s IMOCA during his stopover in Newport, RI.

Our compatriot, Oliver just finished the transatlantic leg from Lorient to New York and is preparing for the leg back to France in Les Sables-d’Olonne, starting on Wednesday, May 29th.

We caught up with him to talk about the Vendée Globe, a sailing race held every 4 years, single handed around the world with no stop and no assistance.

Just before the long Memorial Day weekend, here in the USA, we had the immense pleasure to meet Oliver Heer and his team during their New York @vendeeglobe stopover in Newport, RI.

We will be sharing bits of the interview soon.

Thanks again to the team for making themselves available. It was a great pleasure to meet the team and an incredible experience to step aboard an @imocaglobeseries for the first time.

We invite you to support our compatriot in his Vendée Globe campaign by following him on social media @oliverheeroceanracing

Stay tuned for more!
Oliver is leaving Rhode Island today and heading to New York City 🗽 for the leg back to Les Sables-d’Olonne.

Fair winds and following seas, Oliver!
