APPLICATION LINK IS OPEN IN MY BIO πŸ“ I’ve been wanting to find a meaningful way to give back, and today I’m extremely proud to finally introduce something that means a lot to me: The Dooley Leadership SchoLITship. πŸŽ“ Western Michigan University played an important role in my journey. Since graduating, I’ve gone into education and made my impact on the youth a major part of who I am and who I want to continue becoming. The more I’ve grown, the more I’ve realized that leadership isn’t just about having a title or being the person in charge. It’s about what you do with the opportunities you’ve been given, how you show up for others, and what you choose to leave behind. That is why I created the Dooley Leadership SchoLITship. πŸ’› For the inaugural year, I am personally funding two $500 scholarships for two full-time freshmen or sophomores at Western Michigan University. 🀎 There is another reason why October 10th was chosen to begin this journey. It is the birthday of my late grandmother, Dr. Jacquilin Porter. πŸ’œ As I thought about legacy and what it means to leave something positive behind, it felt right that the first chapter of something I built to help my people should begin on a day that already means so much to me. So this inaugural scholarship is launched in remembrance of her. My hope is that this becomes much bigger than two scholarships. I want there to be future Dooley Scholars. I want recipients to go on to lead, serve, create, inspire, and eventually reach back for somebody else. And I hope that one day this reaches far beyond Western Michigan University. But every legacy has to start somewhere.
