the impact you made on not only me and all of the other fans, but the city, is something nobody else could have done. since 2019 before the draft in march madness, i remember cutting the sleeves off of an old yellow t shirt and writing “morant” “12” on the back when murray st played marquette in the tournament. fast forward to the lottery where we end up with the 2nd pick in the draft and 10 year old me was the happiest kid on the planet screaming around the house. ask anybody that knows me and the first thing they think about when they hear my name is “Ja Morant”. i don’t own OVER 30 pair of Ja shoes or all of the Nike Ja clothing possible or over 5 jerseys for no reason. when dez and jaren got traded it was really hard for me, the thing that kept me up is that “we still got twelve”. when brandon, who was very close to me tragically passed, ja was still there to remind me about the good times. through many downs of my life so far, my easiest therapy was turning on your highlights and forgetting about whatever was bothering me. more than a player, your personality, good heart, and loyalty and love for others inspired me every day. when i went to visit kenya in 2022 and showed a bunch of kids there a picture of me and ja, they went absolutely insane, and that’s when i realized the global impact and fan base you have. the last slide of this post is from when i met you for the first time after game one of the timberwolves series, no other fan would react like that. through all of the journey i always had your back and still will forever. now here in 2026, i intern for @catch12media and that’s has accomplished life long dreams for me. i am truly going to miss every night “and at guard from murray state university, number 12 JA MORANTTTT”. you did things for my city and favorite team that nobody else can do and inspired me and kept me up through many hard times. there’s a billion more words i can say…go be great in portland, and we always gonna love you here in the 〽️ thank you for seven years of your service and all you did for me and we will see you when “twelve” goes up in the rafters 💙

The family of SJ Pyron, a young Grizzlies fan from Bells, TN, reached to Facebook for help, Ja noticed and donated $15,000 to cover the whole goal by himself. He then shared it to his own page, and the total is well surpassed $40,000 and counting.
