🌊💧 WORLD WATER MONITORING DAY | SEPTEMBER 18

Water is supposed to be a source of life sustaining people, wildlife, ecosystems, and communities. But today, many of our rivers, lakes, streams, and oceans are being threatened by the waste and debris we allow to enter them.

🚯 Plastics, household waste, industrial pollution, and other debris can contaminate our water bodies, harm marine and aquatic life, and create risks for human health.

When we pollute our water, we don't just damage nature we put life at risk.

World Water Monitoring Day reminds us that protecting water begins with monitoring its quality, preventing pollution, and taking responsibility for what we put into our environment.

At @ecovision.africa, we believe protecting our water bodies is protecting the future generations to comes both human and wildlife.

Let’s keep our water clean.
Let’s protect aquatic life.
Let’s protect human life.

We’re excited to share that Quigley – A Dragon’s Story is officially fiscally sponsored by From the Heart Productions, supporting our mission to bring this story to life through independent, purpose-driven filmmaking.

At its core, Quigley is about connection—between people, nature, and the responsibility we share in protecting the world around us. Through the journey of a young boy, a girl, and a dragon, we aim to inspire a new generation to care about ocean conservation and the fragile ecosystems that sustain life.

We’re proud to share a common mission with organizations working every day to protect our oceans, including Oceana, Coral Restoration Foundation, Ocean Conservancy, The Ocean Cleanup, 4ocean, Team Seas, and Mananalu—supporting a growing movement toward a cleaner, more sustainable future.

This project is currently in active development, and every step forward brings us closer to sharing this story—and its message—with the world.

If you’d like to follow the journey or learn more, check the link in our bio.

It's not just about coral reefs and fish. We are witnessing the consequence of mismanaged waste.
-
On this day, there was a slick layer of bensin (gas) and oil that would stick to whatever came into contact with it. As we were gearing up in the water, the plastic wrappers would get tangled on our gear and some would stick to our exposed skin.
-
Waste doesn't belong in the ocean. She gives us so much, the least we can do is give her the respect she deserves and leave only bubbles behind us.

🌅 @chinadailynews on #WorldWaterDay 💧 a perfect moment to appreciate a breathtaking wonder shaped by water. 💙

In Shigu town of Yulong Naxi autonomous county, #Yunnan province, lies Shiguwan along the #JinshaRiver. Here, the river makes a dramatic turn, forming a striking V-shaped bend as it winds around the surrounding mountains. From afar, the river curves and loops like a flowing ribbon drifting through the valleys — powerful yet graceful, a stunning reminder of nature’s artistry carved by water over time. #Lijiang 🤝
