Hello friends! We wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for helping us make the first 6 months of Spatial Awareness so special. As the calendar year comes to an end, we’re filled with gratitude as we reflect back on the many Thursday nights we’ve spent together since July. We have borne witness to some truly magical moments with you, and the moments we create together are the reason we keep pushing.

Massive love to every artist who’s stepped behind the decks and shared with us. We are so grateful for the time and effort you have all put into creating such wonderful, unique environments for us to immerse ourselves in.

Thanks so much to Seth and Percy for providing us with a home and trusting us with our little freaker Thursday night.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who’s chilled, danced, listened, checked in, shared a laugh, come early, or stayed late - this community exists because of you.

Spatial Awareness is about building a space where people feel safe, welcome, inspired, and to show up exactly as they are. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or just found us recently, you are a part of that intention and that magic.
We’re excited for what’s ahead in the new year. Until then, take care of yourselves and each other. We can’t wait to see you again soon!

As the year draws to a close, we have one final 2025 offering for you. We are honored to welcome Philadelphia’s own Alex LaVallee, aka Teardrop Valley, to close out the 2025 season.

@teardrop_valley is a long-standing friend and collaborator of our resident Cubby. Earlier this year, the two jointly released BOBBY, a face-beating, atmospheric, footwork-oriented project long in the works; following his playfully leftfieldish sample-based solo release titled “Demonstration” through Philly’s own Liminal Editions. He cites his contemporaries in the Philadelphia underground as his most significant influences and inspirations.

Alex is primarily a producer who builds his work using digital and analog sampling that pulls from electronic, soul, footwork, noise, and ambient constructions. His quilted-like approach threads a texturally detailed, sonically precise, production that is ubiquitous and oddly unique. Teardrop’s varied approach extends to his DJing. We expect to hear everything from Krautrock to Drum + Bass, with the discerning ear of someone looking for the magic in recorded music. Surely a bag of records pulled by a refined sampler ear is going to be full of tricks.

Cubby will open from 9-10, followed by Teardrop Valley 10-close. Sliding-scale door: $5-10, or pay what you can. Donations support Spatial Awareness by paying artists and organizers. No one will be turned away for lack of funds!

Looking ahead... no Spatial on the books for the next two weeks. Our first night back will be on January 8th, for 3 hours, with the one and only ADAB. More details to come soon!

Join us for a warm drink and get cozy by the fireplace one last time this year. Thank you so much to everyone for coming out and making this night so special. It really means a lot to us. We have so much exciting stuff planned for 2026 that we can’t wait to share with you!

Hello friends! Popping in here to let you know that Spatial Awareness will be taking a brief pause this week for everyone’s favorite cranberry sauce soaked revisionist holiday. We hope that you are able to spend time with loved ones and hopefully take a beat from the ol day to day slog.

We also wanted to take this moment to share our upcoming calendar for the month of December and update you on our new door policy moving forward.

Starting in December, we will be shifting to a sliding scale door of $5-10 or pay what you can/want. It is very important to us that we keep Spatial Awareness accessible to everyone so for that reason no one will be turned away at the door for lack of funds.

We’ve always made it a priority to keep SA free and to pay artists as generously as our resources allow, and we are steadfast to upholding that commitment going forward. This is a labor of love and something we enjoy doing very much. Putting together a weekly curation is a lot of fun but also requires a lot of time and energy, and right now we are unfortunately not being compensated in a way that allows us to stay afloat and continue paying artists what they deserve.

We have cultivated a wonderful community and are grateful to everyone who has made it what it is thus far. There are lots of big ideas in the works and a donation will help us move those ideas forward and keep Spatial Awareness around for the long haul. If you are able to do so, we would really appreciate the help, but as you can imagine, what truly means the most to us is sharing music with you and being together. We will always find a way to do that.
