Presented at 20 Exchange Place in Manhattan’s Financial District, the collection explored conflict, brutality, morality and the blurred line between aggressor and victim.
Raw textures, distressed layers, industrial details, chainmail references and a dark, ritualistic atmosphere defined one of the most intense runway moments of NYFW.

Here are some of my thoughts and feelings ..
We are nature. We come from it and we go back into it, and we spend our whole lives ignoring this.

Guy Debord named the rest of it in 1967. The society of the spectacle. The loneliness is the product. We are separated from each other on purpose, because a person who feels part of something does not need to buy very much.

That is why I recreated our runway reversal show. In 2001, two days before the towers fell, I put the models in the audience and made the audience walk the runway. This time nobody was allowed to only watch. Ruby McCollister and @fabricioseraphin put a piece of Imitation of Christ on each person at the door and sent them down the runway confident, belonging, part of it. The models walked alongside them, then sat and watched. There was no audience left in the room.

And now by popular demand IT is Gen Z bringing this movement back. Buying vintage IOC through @iocarchive and @open24hrs, pulling pieces out of 2001 and understanding exactly what we meant by them. Caring about each other is what separates us from bots, and they understand that better than my generation did. Buy used. Repair what you have. There is already enough clothing on this earth.

To everyone who walked and everyone who performed and participated YOU made this. IOC is a collective and always has been. YOU Are all now a part of it . @edteller @lilyteiger @gregharrison you three are the future. Thank you so so much for all your hard work and brilliant talent
