God damn, @theeparkside - where to even begin. The city is lesser and lost a part of its soul with the loss of this place. Got to share drinks and tots with so many friends and in all the different phases of my own life. @maliaspanyol and crew really fostered the hell out of a community and made a space and home for so many. I’m tired of losing people and places that matter, we experience so much loss in this life (personally, mine have been more concentrated in a short span so its been extra heavy these days), but i’m grateful to have been able to exist and experience this place, share some of my most cherished memories with folks here, and eat oh so so many tots.

Part 1- flickr link is up in my bio for more shots from the final days and before. tag yourselves and save em if you like! I may print some photos out so lmk if you want one specific. feel free to credit tag me if you’re so inclined
Part 2 soon

Today: Night’s Whisper 🗣️

One of the problems in a mostly Premodern environment is that efficient card draw is relatively rare, especially outside of blue!

That’s why I see Night’s Whisper as a very reasonable modern intruder. Two cards for two mana and only 2 life is simple, efficient and helps black decks maintain momentum without feeling broken.

What do you think —> fair addition or too efficient for Premodern Cube?

Happy May the Fourth everyone!!!

Had the biggest blast today! This weekend, I spruced up an old han solo jacket and made it my own with hardware store greeblies and cricut decals! Jammed my sewing machine a couple times but it worked out in the end. Got to celebrate today with coworkers and friends, and John got to join us for lunch too!

Had the most epic maul finale screening at home with friends this Sunday, with @ambam_smash @shanfranbay @kortizart complete with greeble your own solo cup, chicken parm and maul muffins! So proud of the hard work and passion the whole cast, crew and team put into this show. So happy folks are enjoying it! Got to work on designs for characters like Vario, Deemis (with maria lerma), the TDF force, the sewer where Daki and Devon hide out, and some slashes and injuries on Maul and many many more! Its been a joy to watch and experience with friends and fam 💙

Next AIDS/LifeCycle 2025 recap post: days 3 and 4, King City – Paso Robles – Santa Maria.
Day 3 was redemptive after overheating last year. I got lunch, pins, and postcards at the beloved Bradley School fundraiser, and I was sad to leave Rest Stop 2 (St. John’s Episcopal Church in Jolon) for the last time, a lovely respite for me each ride. 🪻

Day 4 was my worst day. I was falling asleep at mile 32 and pulled over for a break. I didn’t have enough energy to continue. I couldn’t ultimately refuse a sweep vehicle, which drove me to the lunch stop. Missing 17-18 miles was upsetting and it’s haunted me. Not all riders have the same goals, and the lost miles kept me from reaching my own. I continued riding after lunch, through to camp, and I appreciate my @wespokesf teammates who were waiting for me at the finish line.

Highlights on these days included Rest Stop 1 bops, a cyclist who offered candied ginger, animals (🐿️🐇🐐), making it to the root beer float station, a cookie from my tent neighbor John (from a town I didn’t get to bike through), Santa Maria and Pismo Beach vistas, and the smell of vibrant strawberry fields. 🍓

Thank you, donors and supporters!! #aidslifecycle

ALC DAY 3! QUADBUSTER! So happy I was able to finish this day. Started wet, drenched by the time I made it up quadbuster. Slow and steady was the game, i had to stop often but i pedalled it all. Chicken Lady’s trinkets up the climb helped distract me from the steep grade. Also really appreciated @westghost ‘s encouragement throughout the last stretch of climb - “make it to that diamond, and then the next, and then that call boxnis the too!” Thanks dude!

the cold drenching rain powered me through the descent and booking it to the next rest stop.By the time I got there the sun was out and heat was up. I ended up biking in just my sports bra and bib at that point from being fully jacketed up for the rain earlier. Bay Area weather prepared me for the volatile weather of the day all the way to lunch at Bradley School. We had amazing burgers and were able to buy some cool postcards drawn by the students and help contribute to the school’s main fundraiser of the year. Booked it to rest stop 4 where i got to snack, recouperate and hang out with some sailor scouts! I was one of the last 4 riders this day, but still made it to camp just in time for a chocolate milk and a shower before dinner! We started the day having to walk our bikes across a sandpit - where i wore my most appropriate jersey, cause i really do hate sand.
