POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

For those who have already listened to episode 21, you will know all about our shout outs and who they are, but we just wanted to take a moment to re-shout out our nominations from the podcast right here on Instagram.

@silverpaintsminis : good egg in the community! Wonderful painter, very inspiring projects. Busts, Blood Angels and some awesome kit bashes. Lovely to chat to and super supportive.

@miniwargamer_dave : even more lovely in person than on the YouTubes! Fantastic Just Move movement encouraging good wellbeing habits. Genuinely about connecting with and supporting others.

@tech_priest_ward : community minded hobbyist who is a far better painter than they would give themselves credit for! Super supportive and kind and runs some great online painting comps focussed on smaller accounts to share that love and support.

BAYARD'S REVENGE

What an awesome model this is, and its been a blast to paint up! Had this sat in the colection for the past for months, kindly donated by @seb_the_sock_moss

I think this has to be some of the best skin tones that Ive painted and pretty proud of this one.

This is also my entry into the Step to 1000 being ran by @tech_priest_ward Bayard's Revenge, painted with black armour for the Emperors Champion and slight greenish tone for the ork skin.

*VOTING OPEN TOMORROW*

How will the competition work?

I'll start by mentioning it in my story along with the 21 people who entered, then I will be doing 9 rounds of 2 models and 1 that involves 3. YOU, then vote for which one you think is the best.

I WILL NOT tag the models with their painter as I want people to vote for the model, not the person.

Once day one is done, the winners on that day will go through to the next round, and so on. There might be a couple of rounds where there are 3 models. If so, ONLY the one model will go through. If at any point we have a tie, I will decide which one goes through.

This is all fun, no prizes, so let's keep it friendly and have a good time.

SEE YOU ALL IN MY STORY TOMORROW!

My entry for the Indie 500 painting competition #indie500PC being run by @tech_priest_ward

This is the first time @tech_priest_ward has run a painting competition, and it’s my first time entering one, so I wanted to do something special.

I’m not the best painter, not by a long shot, so I thought I’d just make something fun.

When I put together a kitbash normally I’m just going with what I think looks cool, making it up as I go. This was my first time having a concept in mind (the penguins from Tim Burton’s Batman Returns [1992]) and working towards that, and it turned out to be a fun exercise.

This is made from a toy penguin found in a charity shop, the rocket is a handle from a paintbrush with some plasticard fins and a green stuff cone, and the harness is green stuff and various space marine bits.

Thanks again to @tech_priest_ward for putting on a cool competition and inspiring this build.
