It’s iPhone 18 Pro launch day, and Apple basically brought Cupertino to NYC with a product display straight out of the Hands area outside the Steve Jobs Theater. Really, really well done. 🍎

Did you go Apple picking today? 📱

As AI wearables and smart glasses face growing privacy concerns, how is Apple tackling the backlash 👁️🤨

Tom's Guide and @TechRadar sat down at Apple Park with John Ternus and Greg "Joz" Joswiak to ask about their approach to audio intelligence and user privacy.

John Ternus broke down why features like Siri Recap don't keep transcripts or stored recordings:

"There is no transcript, there is no recording... Even the owner of the watch can't see the recording; it doesn't exist."

Joz added that Apple built a dedicated chip exclave specifically so audio can't be saved, hacked, or leaked.

Do you trust Apple’s approach to AI privacy as it prepares a new suite of "audio intelligence" features for Apple Watch?

How do you redesign iOS for a phone that bends in half?

We asked Apple’s John Ternus about taking the risk to reimagine iOS for the new iPhone Duo. The key design breakthrough? moving core controls to the right side so key elements stay right under your thumb whether the phone is closed or open.

"It turns out to be an incredibly intuitive control system because it's there under your right thumb when it's closed. You open it up, it's there under your right thumb again."

Do you like this right-thumb navigation idea for foldables?

How did Apple manage to keep the iPhone Duo under wraps despite constant tech leaks 🤫

Tom's Guide and TechRadar sat down with Greg "Joz" Joswiak and John Ternus at Apple Park, and Joz admitted they had to put "extra security" on the project, using a fake code name to throw off leakers:

"People knew through leaks that we were working on a foldable. Unfortunately, they got the aspect ratio... We said, 'Okay, we're going to really keep this one locked down,' and it worked," referring to Apple's decision to use nano-texture technology for the iPhone Duo's foldable display.

No because why do so many Android foldable apps feel like blown-up phone apps 🤨

We sat down with Greg "Joz" Joswiak and John Ternus at Apple Park to discuss how Apple is handling app design on the new iPhone Duo.

Joz didn't hold back on why Android tablets and foldables have struggled in the past: "They just felt like big Android phones."

Apple is pushing developers to build true dual-pane, tablet-class software for the iPhone Duo, and apparently there's "a lot of enthusiasm" to get apps properly optimized for Apple's foldable.
