Our Secret Circle is a dark and disturbing novel about human trafficking. Told in a way where it can only consume, grip and make you realize how much of an issue this actually is. How powerful people get away with such hateful crimes. I absolutely love that the author brought attention to this subject, how well she executed it and made me feel deeply for all these girls. Please check your trigger warnings !

I thought it was so well described, so vivid. I absolutely loved Braydee, her resilience and strength. She was absolutely magnificent. As much as this is a hard story to hear, the overall message was so well conveyed by the author. I was on the edge of my seat, I was nervous, I was emotional, I was mad, I truly felt it all.

I truly loved this book and the message it conveys. How to stay aware of your surroundings, watch for signs in people around you showing you they're unsafe. I also love that there's 10% of proceeds of this book going to lock up sex predators and help fund the rescue of sex slaves in the USA. Just read it ! It's worth it.

I am so grateful to have connected with our next speaker, who I know has so much wisdom and knowledge to share based on her history of entrepreneurship and her service in the army!

Our next guest speaker for the Spring GROW & Flourish workshop and networking event on April 11th @drish_house is Tecia McLaughlin @teciamclaughlin

Tecia is an Alabama author, business owner, and public speaker.

She joined the US Army when she was seventeen years old, and spent three years as a Counter-Intelligence Agent stationed in Wurzburg, Germany.

While stationed at the Third Infantry Military Intelligence Division she was given an opportunity to serve as a journalist for the Army’s “Frontline” Newspaper.

In 1989, she was crowned Miss Capitol City and competed for the title of Miss Alabama.

She is currently the owner of a full-service beach wedding company along the Gulf Coast. @bellaweddingsbythesea

Her first suspense thriller “Beseeched” was published in 2023, and her crime thriller “Our Secret Circle” was published in 2024.

Tecia is going to share her story and speak about how we can Live an Intentional Life.
