The highlights of 2025 (3 days late).
Featuring (in order):

1. Winter Formal, and my second attempt at the Big Milwaukee Challenge (except bigger this time). I failed.

2. Prom

3. My final concert with the Eau Claire Memorial High School Orchestra (the greatest orchestra, miss you guys)

4+5. High School Graduation

6. Weird Al Yankovic concert with two of the lads

7. Coldplay Concert (attended with my sister, whom I *definitely* payed back in a timely manner for the ticket)

8. EAA Airventure, attended with my Mom and Brother.

9. A 3-days late camping trip with the lads to Horicon Marsh Wildlife Refuge

10. Franz Ferdinand Concert attended with my brother. I also got to see some friends who are attending UW Madison whilst I was in the city.

11. ‘Empress Of’ opened for Lorde; I’d not heard of the band prior to that, but their music was very good.

12. Lorde Concert which I attended with my Mom.

13. World Ballet Company performance of The Great Gatsby, which I also attended with my Mom. This was the first time I’ve attended a ballet performance, and it was amazing.

14. While I am taking a gap year, I have been accepted into UW Stout’s Psychology program and will be starting there in the fall of 2026.

And many more memorable moments that I don’t have photos of. Thanks to everyone who was a part of my life this year, as none of these moments would have been anywhere near as enjoyable without the people I experienced them with. ❤️

Here’s to hoping that 2026 can be just as good as 2025 turned out to be.

Engineers Without Borders just traveled to St. Louis to volunteer with Seed St. Louis over fall break. We worked at three amazing community gardens: Old Ferguson West Community Garden, Oak Hill Elementary Garden, and Fountain Park Community Garden. From planting and mulching to building garden beds, we loved getting our hands dirty and giving back to these incredible spaces.
A huge thank you to Seed St. Louis for welcoming us and showing us the impact of urban agriculture in building stronger communities.
Between the service work, we also had time to explore the city and bond as a team. We visited the iconic Gateway Arch, got lost in the creativity of City Museum, wandered through the stunning Botanical Gardens, spotted some amazing animals at the zoo, and topped it all off with a delicious dinner on The Hill.

Hey, it’s Joey, returning (at least temporarily) from the void for an important message:

Congratulations to the entire ECMHS class of 2025. Over the past 4 years, I’ve seen an incredible amount of effort come out of so many of you, from academics, to athletics, to music, to whatever else you’ve pursued. Every one of you has put forth an amazing effort, and every one of you deserves this diploma and so much more. I’m shocked to see myself writing this, but I’ll honestly come to miss the time spent with you 375. Congratulations to all of you, and good luck in your futures— though I know you won’t need it.

In addition, a special thanks to all of my friends—past and present; at memorial and elsewhere. You’ve made high school, a place which I went into dreading and counting down the days, not only bearable, but a truly enjoyable experience. From the countless hours playing ultimate frisbee, to the orchestra rehearsals (the HO!!), to all of the days spent goofing off instead of paying attention (literally every day in Lit class), to the nights I’ve spent messaging you over the phone, talking about everything and nothing. You’ve helped me to enjoy my time through high school, and create memories that will last a lifetime. I could never have asked for such good friends, and I hope to have more great times through this summer and beyond.

Congratulations again to all 375 other members of the ECMHS class of 2025, and thank you all for making my time at memorial as great as it was. Now and always: GO ABES!
