It’s easy to take for granted how beautiful the country is that we live (& work & leisure) on. A brief winter escape down south to lutruwita was timely reminder. Ivan and I popped down to nipaluna to see our old pal @tedjohnson and we wizzed around the place and were blessed with some crisp winter sunshine and plenty of good company. Thanks to Lauren for a blissful stay at @slow_beam and Andy & Chanty for your hospitality x

Hillvale Gallery is proud to share that the State Library of Victoria (@library_vic) recently acquired works by Diego Pizarro from his 2025 exhibition 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘉𝘦 𝘢 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘰! The State Library of Victoria (SLV) purchased 32 of Diego’s photographic and hand drawn portraits and these works are now available to view via SLV online catalogue. We are thrilled for Diego’s work receiving the recondition they deserve, and his work will sit alongside a range of other artist works by Arts Project artists in the collection.

In October 2025, Diego and his photography mentor Simon Aubor along with Diego’s parents and Jason, Andy and Sarah from Hillvale Gallery were invited to the SLV to deliver the works and meet with Susan Long, collection curator of Victorian and Australian Collections at the SLV.

Artwork details:
𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘉𝘦 𝘢 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘰 by Diego Pizarro, 2025. 32 x photographic and hand drawn portrait prints; 35.56 x 27.94 cm

Wowee, thanks to everyone who came along to celebrate the book & exhibition launch of PAUSE by @chris_middlebrook last Friday! This was such a special way to round out an incredible year of programming we are very proud of at HVG ❣️

Big thanks to our favourite local band ECSR for the impromptu rain-swept performance out the front of the gallery!! Magic!!

Chris’ prints are available for sale via our new gallery web store www.hillvalegallery.com.au/store

The exhibition continues until Jan 23 (excluding holiday closure). The book is currently available exclusively in store at @hillvalephoto but will soon be available to purchase online. Stay tuned for updates.

Many more highlights to come!
