I thought I knew about TEDx well enough, until I decided to read up this document and align my knowledge rightly.

I must say this, when it comes to getting speakers, I thought it was all about getting individuals who have succeeded in their various fields to come share their experiences. What worked for them.

But with this document I understand that it's not "what worked for them", rather workable, new and innovative ways of doing things.

In most cases, this has to be based on a replicable research and not just fiction, imagination or 'trial and luck'.

A lot really goes into planning these events, than just meets the eye.

Hence, when you meet organisers like @abioladurodola_ @fechimuze @iamawesomejosh @obidigbo_chinelo @egwunnannaechem and curators like @coolfinesse respect the work that they go through to get these things to life.

Reposted from @houseofpoetrapy Sometimes you've got to let them be...
Their thoughts, opinions, processes might not all align with yours but then this diversity is needed...it is the way we can truly live and learn!

So this week...LIVE AND LET LIVE...Let people be themselves around you...try to understand 'the why' rather than being judgemental...that is the only way you can truly help and also learn.

This is a special post where I pay tribute to the great TEDx events that I've had an opportunity to work with either as a volunteer or as partner (through @tobedesignsng ), and most importantly, as a team member for @tedxasata .
•
So much stories and lessons have been shared on these platforms, and I'm happy to have had an opportunity of tapping into it.
•
It's a knowledge bank and another great platform for building out one's connection.
•
Tag the TEDx events you've attended, or been a part of, as my shout out also goes to them all.

You already know #TEDxAsata was the bomb. Now though, I want to share my TEDx story. Sometime last year, my friend sent me a link to volunteer for #TEDxAsata. I did, I started talking to some of the team members and I mentioned at some point that I host events. Habib Sheidu alongside other team members gave me an opportunity. TEDx for me was such a big deal and funny thing is it was my first. So, I attended my first TEDx event, volunteered for my first TEDx event and killed it as the Host of my first TEDx event.
A lot of things stood out for me all the way. First of, Habib just believed in me... Like, no questions at all, he rooted and pushed for me. And then, Abiola and Iheanyi just gave me an amazing platform, they made sure I had everything I needed to thrive. Then @iamwinny_ oh my God, I have never admired a host this much... Winifred got personal with me, encouraged me, we prayed together for this event, she always made sure I was okay... And all the amazing team members and volunteers. @chikamnelanya 😭😭😭... God, I'd have broken down without her. And my friends personally came to make noise on my head (lol)... @udentalota @chee_na_edu @aropmeg... @dumije1 The list goes on.
My TEDx Experience is one of it's kind, I felt so much energy from the people in my life... I had so many reposts, so many people carrying my matter on their head..
And my family... My parents called like always, siblings, cousins especially my Nnenne 💚💚💚... My person was always there... And then, God's word came to pass...God's word that doors and more doors will be open... God had my back in all of this..
I cannot even completely share my experience... But I am a delighted host.
