introducing @mnjm.rec and @xpam.tunis artists for this Friday 21st of August at @blue_velvet_berlin . KETTALYNNE @lynneazzam is a sound artist, DJ and vocalist who merges the sonic textures of the SWANA region with experimental electronics. She treats sound as a fluid storytelling medium, weaving her own melodic vocals and poetry into atmospheric compositions of ambient, bass, and techno. While her sound art and live performances highlight her vocal work in its purest form, her DJ sets translate these elements into a club context, utilizing chopped vocal fragments and avant-garde textures to create an immersive, rhythmic ritual of collective resonance. SXCL @sxcl_666 is a versatile musician from Reunion Island, producing and DJing since 2017 while continuously reshaping their sound to reflect an ever-evolving, eclectic taste. Moving fluidly from house and progressive trance to electro and old-school techno, they have brought their genre-blurring energy to iconic venues like Säule and Tresor, as well as to Festival Electropicales alongside artists such as Jeff Mills and Danilo Plessow. Sensitive to the intricate textures of electronic music, SXCL crafts immersive sets that seamlessly merge house and techno, guiding audiences through carefully constructed journeys tinged with a subtle, lingering melancholy. TEDZI @tedzi___ Teddy Tawil (aka TEDZI) is a Lebanese multi-instrumentalist and electronic artist based in Berlin. Their sound is an explosive collision of bashed rhythmical interventions, dystopian scapes, nervous transients, and agonizing tones — music that deconstructs itself as it plays, circling themes of collapse, rupture, and the destruction of destruction. Expect a well-paced set, built on their shared approach to mixing and selection. Re-opening the Circle ⭕️ A performance developed during a 7-day artistic lab facilitated by @mohamadbanihani and produced by @umerigu The performance took place in the art space of UMeRiGu, a space where we slept, ate, rehearsed, and performed together throughout the lab. The performance inhabited the whole space, beginning outside the building and expanding through the entrance, main space, stairs, and unexpected corners of the house before ending with a live music jam in the café. Over seven days, each piece found its own form through improvisation and collective work, dealing with the body as a place where habits can crack and new relations between body, space, and others can appear. In a space we call home, performance becomes about existing beyond the act of showing. Scaroni Lightdesign: Solal Ramand, Raoul2000 The starting point of this collaborative work by Bobi H. Stojaković und SERCE was the idea to engage with existing amateur dances from films. They have been inspired by Polish and Yugoslav films from the 50s, 60s and 70s, mostly films from new wave and post new-wave era, that have surreal and oniric quality and dealing with consequences of WW2, more specifically the intermission scenes of spontaneous dances, in a party, celebration or ceremony. Dance in them is creating a space that you can lose yourself in, both as a dancer and observer. What is interesting about this is the idea of a haunted dance or a dancing driving force that one can’t explain and is, unlike trance, not spiritual.
