hello dear community ~ we are so excited to be having our first ever LA MELT! big thanks to our friends for inviting us to their city and making this possible!

we’ll be teaching simple massage techniques on how to loosen up the muscles and fascia in our quads, including some of the major hip flexors. if you sit all day for work, drive a lot, or simply just want to learn about the quads, this is the workshop for you.

there will also be some special herbal offerings from @ohhhdaa / @mutualherb, as well as some curated political texts healing and care work from @tee.the.person.

August was vibrant and so full of life!
I felt so joyful and energized.

- I got a bike 🚲
- celebrated a big birthday
- and many other friends bdays
- attended an authentic relating workshop
- hung string lights in my yard and really enjoying hosting
- of course, lots of salsa dancing, good makeup work and gym time, ya know, the usual junk ❤️

Community defense and mutual aid are practices of interbeing ❤️‍🔥

Last week, Sangha House LA welcomed our community for a Community Defense & ICE Awareness Training. For us, this is engaged Buddhism in practice—cultivating the awareness, relationships, and skills to show up for our communities with courage and compassion 🪷

Thank you to Joselin and Lalaine from @conmijente mijente and @cd1losangeles, for your partnership in bringing these skills into our community. Together, we’re building a sangha that is more connected, prepared, and rooted in collective care 🤎

I swore I’d never live in LA. Somehow, Highland Park became home the last 6 years. 💛 From the Yellow House and my kitchen mouse family to the little apartment where I learned how to live alone and trust myself, this neighborhood has held so much of my growth. As I step into a new chapter in Garden Grove, I’m reminded that while places change, home is something I carry within me.

🪷 since the Walk for Peace LA back in feb--when monastics from two traditions as well as us laypeople walked silently together down the streets of LA in solidarity with @walkforpeace.usa--several of us were wanting a space for more political praxis of our buddhist path. today, we met for the first time to start our 'praxis reading group' and read chapters 1 & 2 of 'mutual aid' by dean spade in hopes of sparking this wider application of our dharma 📚
