Keeping your head behind the ball and your hands in a strong position.

We used this drill to work on posture and prevent the hands from dropping during the load. Starting with the bat on the shoulder helps reinforce the right hand position and create a more consistent swing.

The little details make the difference.

Here is a day in the life of Coach Nick!

From getting my own work in to helping the next generation of players develop, every day is an opportunity to get better.

Early mornings, long days, and a lot of reps. Development over hype.

The first few lessons are usually the hardest.

These adjustments take time, patience, and repetition. We’re not chasing a perfect swing overnight. We’re building better movement patterns that translate into the game.

Stack good reps. Trust the process. Keep getting better.

Development Over Hype.

DEFENSE WINS GAMES. SOFT HANDS WIN OUTS.⚾️

Our 2026–2027 Soft Hands Infield Clinic is back at Teels Baseball & Softball Training Center!

From late November through early March, this program gives players ages 8–13 & High School the opportunity to get consistent, high-quality defensive repetitions and build confidence around the infield.

Players will work on:
• Fielding with your feet
• Proper throwing mechanics
• Double plays & 2-man drills
• Slow rollers
• Backhands & glove-side plays
• Fielding with a purpose
• Building game-ready defensive confidence

I personally went through this program when I was their age and continued all the way through college. The extra repetitions made a huge difference in my development, and I’m excited to work the clinic this year alongside Michael Rozema and the Teels coaching staff.

If you’re looking for productive offseason work to help your player become a more confident and complete defender, this is a great opportunity to get those reps in!

Beckett is crushing it today💪

Working on creating separation and learning to fire our hips — explode through the ball and let the lower half drive the swing.

Development over hype.

A simple progression I go through during our lessons:

Drill work → Tee work → Demonstration → Applying adjustments

Building the movement, understanding the why, and then applying it to the swing.

This simple drill can help clean up your lower half and teach you how to properly use your hips in the swing.💪

We want to turn the back foot all the way through, drive the back knee down, and stay strong on the front side without letting the front knee collapse.

No baseball. No tee. Just a bat and a few minutes of intentional work.

Simple drills. Better movement. Better swings.

The backside creates the foundation. The front side helps finish the swing.

Focus on building strength and stability on both sides of the body so you can stay balanced, create better separation, and transfer energy through the baseball.

Strong backside. Strong front side. Stronger swing.

Quality over quantity‼️ Every swing has a purpose.

We don’t want to rush our swing. Focus on controlling the movement, staying balanced, and trusting the process. It’s not about taking endless swings; it’s about making every rep count and building better habits at the plate.

Slow it down. Focus on the details. Build a better swing.

Your foundation determines the quality of your swing⚾️

Before we focus on the hands, we need to build a strong base. Strong legs, proper balance, and a stable foundation allow hitters to create power, stay controlled, and drive through the baseball.

Build your base. Trust your lower half. Let your swing work.

Confidence in the box starts in your mind. 🧠⚾️

Trust your swing. Commit to your approach. Don’t let one bad swing define your next at-bat.

The best hitters aren’t afraid to fail. They trust their preparation, stay present, and step into the box believing they can succeed.

Build the swing. Build the confidence.

Building the swing from the ground up‼️‼️
Working on driving the knee, staying connected, and creating better movement through the baseball to increase bat speed and power.

Small adjustments + quality reps = better swings.

Player development starts with the fundamentals.
