WHAT WHERE FESTIVAL

Here you go folks, the full lineup for this weekend’s festivities with times for all the music on the programme…

Toad sounds will be stirring up a stagnant swamp of horrible rave noises at the top of the field. If you really need to listen to this mindless rubbish you’ll find a dirty mess of jungle, jungletechno, reggae, dub, hardcore, hard trance, breakbeat, happy hardcore and gabba.

For the more discerning amongst you, Creative Peaks will be curating a highbrow selection of conscious dance, sophisticated Ethio-jazz, spiritual dub, experimental art music and independent organic fusion in the immersive geodome, powered by Resonant Sounds superior, hi-fidelity, handmade audio system.

Plus there’s @wild_saunas_ wood fired saunas, @terriblet0ps fashion for sale, delicious fresh food from Watts Cookin, a bar serving cocktails, Thornbridge ales, Ashover cider, mindblowing projections by @alembic_stills and a mesmerising fire show by @wyldsfire .

Introducing the acts… The Barnacles

A trip to brazil in 2017 began a process of reconnection for multi-instrumentalist and producer pete beardsworth, sparking the sound that would become The Barnacles. A group of fellow travellers and musians soon joined him on the journey, and together they set to work realising the compositions — improvising, experimenting, and making merry.

This cllip includes film from their album release in Nottingham’s multi-purpose creative centre The Carousel , and features live visuals by Alembic Stills.

Two nights of live and electronic music, Fire dancers, experimental visuals, heavyweight custom-built sound systems, an epic fire show, lasers and dancing.

As always it will be full of original and boundary-pushing Independent, leftfield and multi-genre music and art in a beautiful location deep in the Peak District National Park with camping on site (included in the price)

This is our first chance to fully showcase our new immersive geodome, put together by Lotus Domes and Native Nomads - soon to be completely off-grid!! It’s a hub for creativity, experimentation, expression, culture and connection with nature and heritage.

On Saturday night, there will be an epic performance with Wylds Fire incorporating dance, soundscape, rhythm, fire, visuals, mythology, live percussion, sfx, and expressive energy.

Well, we did it again… and boy was that special.

A huge thanks for everyone who put their all into Slipshod, artists, circus, stages, soundsystems, spaces, and you. Yes you, for bringing the vibes.

Slipshod isn't a company. It's me, Alex, my brother Adam, and a bunch of friends and misfits, mostly not events people, not even festival people. I'm a designer who stumbled on freeparties before covid and saw a place for my work to live in the world. Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear hi-vis. Some don't even do that.

I left my design career and worked 14-hour days for two years. Our crews spent months building and grafting, some quit jobs to be there. I'm not saying this for sympathy, but to show: everything we had went into that field. None of us have ever taken a penny. It all goes back in, and that stays true until everyone's fairly supported.

It wasn't enough. We're £20k down. We built a festival for 1,000 out of pure love & ambition and could only welcome 500, half of them the crew building it. Amazing for the vibe. Catastrophic for the bank account. Storage, transport, fuel, infrastructure, all more than our small capacity could carry. That's on us. We built the future before we'd sold the present.

And yet… you called it the best festival of your life. "I've never experienced a festival so full of love." "I went solo and came home with so many new friends." The festival worked. The business didn't. One of those is much easier to fix.

Slipshod isn't going anywhere. We need to get stable, get these people paid, and maybe 2027 is on the cards. We're chasing grants, cutting costs, reshaping how we run because even two weeks into grafting in 30° heat, the team were desperate to go again.
