This is the Explorer Trail by @tembeelephant & @customtrailsafrica

You can do this walk at Tembe Elephant Safari Lodge based in the northen part of Kwazulu-Natal.

This experience is 4 days in total, 2 days at the lodge and 2 at the camp where you sleep in the wild with no fence around you. The walk is guided by the most experienced and professional guides I have ever met and is an amazing experience.

You will have some breathtaking encounters aswell as the most scenic views in the wild. 🦁🐘

Wild views. Beautiful moments. Unforgettable memories. 🌿🐘

Enjoy a private picnic at the Mashasela Hide & Waterhole, where a beautifully prepared spread meets the sights and sounds of the African bush.

Settle in, slow down and experience Tembe Elephant Park from a truly unique perspective.

But what’s the accommodation like when you stay in the African bush?
This is one of the most common questions we get asked!
Swipe to see!

Private - Spacious tented decked cabins offer you the comfort and luxuries you don’t expect!
Ensuite
Totally private outdoor shower area- you will love it!
Air conditioning
Safe
Water jug
Fridge
Kettle/Tea/coffee
Your own private spa area for those wonderful afternoon massages.

Each cabin has its own private path and is secluded within the lodge grounds. It’s just you and nature…

The central area has a reception rondavel, relaxator chairs under the shady trees and at night they light the real fire/boma to sit around and enjoy the incredible night sky.

Two lounge areas with sofas, open bar and the large open dining area under the most beautiful, cathedral thatch roof you’ve ever seen!

Continental breakfast before game drive.
Cooked breakfast after the morning game drive.
Lunch
3 course evening dinner

We have a personal guide and driver for the whole stay and it’s only ever our group in the vehicles.

We have 8 game drives (over 4 days) that are often 3-4 hours long with pit stops in the bush for refreshments, fun, photos and chats!

When you drive through the gates at Tembe, you become part of the Tonga tribe & Tembe family and a piece of your heart will remain there forever.
A community Lodge that is intimate, authentic and where their love of Africa, the land and the wildlife infuses your stay.

@tembeelephant … we love you and can’t wait to be back with you again! 🐘❤️🐘

Next retreat 3rd - 14th May 2028… booking is already underway so don’t miss out!
