While most of Syko Friend’s 2025 release “Dizzy Magic” had been written - there was a song that made its way out before the album’s recording took place. Cloudy Yellow Star Pollen was recorded at the end of 2023 to be released exclusively on the now (sadly) defunct Nina Protocol. A devotional song written amidst creating the world of “Dizzy Magic” - a companion piece that is now available for listening on all streaming platforms.

Recorded by Sophie Weil
Mixed and Produced by Evan Burrows
Thank you PPM !!!!!!

But wait there’s more….
Not only is there a new album (CHROME)

BUT!

There is a companion EP as well (LOVE FUZZZ) out the very same day (AUGUST 28TH). This new take on the TWINS song LOVE FUZZZ is a side long doom jam. We’ve been playing it like this for a minute at our live shows. The B Side (MY PET GURU) is a straight freakout jam. This one’s for the heads.

Flash back, to a time of big men and bigger babies! January, 2016. The times: scary. Tomorrow: kiss it goodbye. This was the headspace for Emotional Mugger’s necksnapping sketch when it dropped that very month those ten fateful years ago. Ty Segall & The Muggers’ EP,”LIVE” “AT” “THE” “BBC”, out January 30, pulls the mask back over our eyes and transports us to their Marc Riley session for the BBC: fifty shows into a furious tour, with a five-headed monstrosity (Wand’s Cory Hanson and Evan Burrows, The Cairo Gang’s Emmett Kelly, Mikal Cronin and King Tuff himself, Kyle Thomas) fully backing Ty.

Hear their live version of “Candy Sam” and pre-order your copy of the session now, link in bio!

Max Nordile (Olympia, WA) @mnordile
“Max Nordile has a patented collage method. In this day, I almost hate to say it’s perhaps a distinctly American sound, like squawks from the rubber room. Although, this is sharply not a conversation between “Mattie” and “Hattie” concerning the “Wooly Bully” and the desirability of developing dancing skills (with no attempt made to synthesize these divergent topics). What you’re listening to is a tangled mass, a phone call from a scribbled area code, herking and jerking its way off the map. It’s catchy, it’s bent.”

CSTMR (Seattle, WA) @cstmrband
Improvised no-wave thrashiness. Ever devolving.
Tom Scully, Casey Adams.

Jitterbug (Dean Spunt + Evan Burrows)
@dotgovgov @tempjob2012

Hidhawk Y Panica @ayddhid @leah_van_bach
Deconstruction of field recordings, sample-based rhythms, cut and paste noise, loops, collages and explorations into patterns, textures, stories and chance.
