🇺🇸Before you pick up your instrument, take a few minutes to decide what you actually want to accomplish today.

What needs attention? What can wait? What is one small thing you can improve?

Progress doesn’t happen overnight. A practice session well planed + consistency + patience will take you much further than simply putting in more hours is the advice that @ernie.tovar gives us

Now… go make that practice plan. 👀

If you haven’t watched the first episode of Manos a la trompa I invite you to find it on YouTube or Spotify

On Sunday 9/13 at 5:30pm, I will perform my final DMA recital in Philadelphia! 🎉 You are welcome to attend in person or virtually via the link in my bio.

This is the last hurdle before I’ll be ABD. It’s been a bit crazy, but I’m excited to share some great music. Hope to see you there! With special guests @tianyilimus and @amobrass 🎹🎺

Shoutout to @arlet_tabares for the awesome poster ❤️

This summer was nothing like I expected it to be. There were no big plans, incredible trips, or grand adventures. And yet, somehow, it became one of the most meaningful summers I’ve had.

I worked with PIMF @pimfmusiccamp as an Associate Director, taught extensively, and learned so much along the way about education and Arts Administration. I also got to celebrate two of my best friends as they married, finally started Manos a la Trompa, a project I had been dreaming about for years and I picked up photography as a new hobby, something that has brought me so much joy and allowed me to see everyday moments a little differently.

Looking back, I realize that this summer wasn’t about doing something extraordinary. It was about finally doing so many of the little things I had been postponing for years. The projects I kept saying “one day” to. The ideas I kept putting off. The things that made me happy. And I’m really proud of that.

Now, a new school year begins. Hopefully my last one with any coursework, and a very different one as I navigate being away from Roy. ❤️

So here’s your reminder, and one I’m giving myself too: keep dreaming, do what brings you joy, start that project you’ve been waiting to start, learn something new and make time for the things that matter to you.
