📣CAPE TOWN KOOK CONTEST - RIDERS ANNOUNCEMENT📣

Okay crew, it’s official… 😎🔥

We are SO stoked to announce that this year’s Kook Contest will be a fully gender-equal competition!

🔥 10 male riders
🔥 10 female riders

The level was just too high to limit, so we’re going equal numbers, equal stage, equal send. 💥

📅 Window period: 21 Feb – 8 March
⏱️ Comp time: ~3 hours

This day is about pushing limits, backing yourself, and bringing the whole community together. The beach is going to be vibing and YOU are the reason why 🤙🏼

Stay tuned as we track the wind… ☀️

And that’s a wrap! The High Five Cape Town Kook Contest 2025 was nothing short of spectacular 🤯

With winds gusting up to 45 knots for the entirety of the competition period, these “Kooks” put on a show that went beyond all expectations 💥

‼️ Exciting news‼️

As a testament to the incredible youth talent that came through in the entries, we have decided to run a GROM SQUAD heat, an 8 minute heat during the competition, winner takes all! A session for the up and coming young riders to showcase their skills in the competition space!

🚀What is the Kook Contest?🚀

The Kook Contest is all about giving first-time competitors a shot at the action! 😇 In this competition, a Kook isn’t an insult—it’s simply our way of defining a rider who has never competed in a professional kitesurfing competition before.

More than anything, the Kook Contest is about progression, passion, and pure stoke. Whether here to compete, improve, or just have the best time with fellow kiters and the community, this event will be one to remember☀️
