Two weeks of Embodied Tantra in Portugal ✨🇵🇹 l 🇵🇹❤️

Life at the Enxara Retreat Centre has been filled with so many beautiful moments. Sunshine, delicious meals, laughter, meaningful conversations and the joy of being surrounded by wonderful women.

I was there assisting Arja Hendrikx and Amanda Biccum with their Embodied Tantra Facilitator Training, supporting thirteen women on their journey towards becoming Tantra teachers.

Coming together again after our time here in June feels especially meaningful. The friendships have grown, the connections have deepened, and there’s a beautiful sense of sisterhood in everything we share.

And beyond our time practising and learning together, I’m enjoying all the little things that make being here so special. The peaceful surroundings, the warmth of the Portuguese sunshine, the food and the joyous moments of simply being together. 🌿

The last weekend, we welcomed outside participants for The Embodied Tantra workshop, the same course Grethe and I will be offering at Tantrasenteret in Oslo this November.

I’m now looking so much forward to bringing some of this inspiration and experience home to Norway. ❤️

What if the things you think you know about Tantra are the very things keeping you from exploring it? ❤️

I often meet people who are curious about Tantra but feel a little uncertain about what they might be stepping into. And I understand that hesitation because I’ve experienced it myself.

One of the things I’ve come to appreciate most about this work is how much it teaches us about our everyday patterns.

How easily we disconnect from ourselves when we’re uncomfortable. How often we put other people’s expectations before our own needs. How much we can learn about ourselves simply by noticing what happens when we feel vulnerable.

These are things we don’t always recognise until we have the opportunity to explore them in a different environment.

And that’s something I care deeply about when creating my workshops. I want people to feel welcome, safe to be curious, and free to explore at their own pace. There’s nothing to prove, and no particular experience you’re supposed to have.

I’m curious, what comes to mind when you hear the word Tantra? And has that changed over time? ❤️

I find it fascinating how much of ourselves we can hide without even realising we’re doing it.

You might be dancing around your house, singing at the top of your lungs, feeling completely free in your body.
And then someone walks into the room.
Suddenly, something changes.

Your movements become smaller. You become aware of how you look, how you sound, how much space you’re taking up.
And sometimes, it happens so quickly that you barely notice.
I’ve seen this so often in the women I work with, and I think it’s worth getting curious about.
Because how often do we do this in our relationships too?
We hold back what we really want to say. We soften our desires because we’re unsure how they’ll be received. We become the version of ourselves that feels easiest for someone else to love.
And eventually, we can become so familiar with that version of ourselves that we forget how much more there is to us.
But I don’t believe those parts of us disappear.
Sometimes they simply haven’t had enough space to be expressed.
And this is something Arja and I have been having so many conversations about.
How do we begin to feel safe enough to bring more of ourselves into our everyday lives?
Not just when we’re alone, but in our relationships, in our intimacy, and in the moments when being fully ourselves feels a little vulnerable.

These conversations are part of what inspired us to create Reclaim Her. 🤍

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from being very good at giving.

You give your attention.
Time.
Energy.
Body.

You become so accustomed to being available that you stop noticing when you have left yourself out of the equation.

In the beginning it doesn’t look like neglect.
It looks like being capable.
Being productive.
Being the one everyone can rely on.

Until one day you realise you can’t remember the last time you asked yourself what you needed before deciding what everyone else needed from you.

This is part of what embodiment has taught me.

Coming back to yourself isn’t always some profound spiritual experience.

Sometimes it is noticing the tension in your jaw.
Saying no to the things you think you ‘should’ say yes to: the dinner invite, the call on a Monday morning, the birthday surprise.

It can also be simpler, such as eating before you become ravenous or saying no without needing a reason.

Small moments where you stop abandoning yourself in order to keep everything else moving.

And over time, those moments change the relationship you have with yourself, your capacity, and your own body.

They also change the way you meet another person.

Because knowing what you need, what you desire and where your boundaries are allows you to bring more of yourself into intimacy instead of disappearing inside it.

They know how to lead.
How to make decisions.
How to hold a lot.
How to keep things moving.
And often, from the outside, their life looks beautiful.
But the body tells another story.
There is very little space to soften.
Receiving can feel harder than giving.
Pleasure becomes something you have to make time for.
Intimacy gets whatever energy is left at the end of the day.
This is why I have been thinking so much about what it actually means to be wealthy.
Because I do not only want a life that looks abundant.
I want the time to feel it.
The body to receive it.
The nervous system to rest inside it.
The intimacy to share it.
That, to me, is a different kind of wealth.
