No shortcuts today. We hit a heavy 1RM strict press, then just kept grinding kettlebell presses and Smith bench until failure. Probably 15-20 sets total, just endless volume. By the end, @thehanlin was cramping and we could barely move. 😭

Sometimes the best sessions are just you and your partner pushing each other until the tank is completely empty. 🤝

Training with Nike has been a whirlwind but enjoying the pain every single day.

Great community, vibe, coaches and progression.

Working out is fun again so let's see how long I can last.

4 weeks in and still going... now that Shanghai Hyrox is postponed, can this mindset and intensity continue?

Designing this BBJ turf was pretty fun. The issue was always how can you clearly see someone goes too far out with their hands when doing BBJs. The goal was to make it easier to gauge for both coaches and athletes. And like I mentioned before, when there is no existing solution you just create them yourself.

Originally, from one middle-of-line to the other middle-of-line was 30cm, but that messed up the numbers and looked confusing. So I switched it to 25cm, so 4 parts would equal 1 meter. Clean and simple. Each line is 2cm thick, so if you land just before a line and place your hands past the next one, that’s 27cm. Close enough, right? Give yourself 2-3cm leeway it’s also a lot safer.

Whether you land on or between the lines, you’ll naturally feel where your hands should go. @hyroxworld should honestly just implement this. It’d make judging so much easier for everyone. Performance coaches and judges can instantly see if an athlete’s hands go past the limit, and athlete’s get a much better feel for the distance and where to put their hands. What do you guys think?

*Dropped the Demon Slayer Infinity Castle OST because this one just goes hard 👹

Come throw 75 wall balls with me at the end of a 2 hour HYROX workout.

Lately I have been trying to implement a 3 second countdown every time I drop the ball. The idea is that wall balls are gonna hurt anyways and we actually rack up so much time resting and contemplating.

So if possible, we can save some time and just grind out the next 5-7 minutes. Training this way is very brutal, but so are wall balls at the end of a HYROX race.

Having someone push you while you do this helps a lot, but I still need to get better at doing this myself.

Also, if you’re in Shanghai, come train at @temporary.humans . Because these laser enabled wall ball counters will keep you very honest haha.

What a day! It was a great honor to welcome Elliott Hill, Nike’s Global CEO, to TH. This visit marks an important milestone and represents a new step forward in our collaboration with Nike, both in China and globally. Much more to come in the future!

Nike CEO Elliott Hill (EH) kicked off his Shanghai tour at Temporary Human (TH), Nike‘s first partnership and pilot gym in Greater China. He immersed himself in a hybrid workout and engaged deeply with the local community.

Was a great honor to invite him sweat with us and being super proud of our teamwork on hybrid marketing in GC.

Also shocked by his explosive strength and engine in workout!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
