BTWB reminds us before we log out remember to still love, find inspiration, honor your lineage, your curiosity, your peace and finding a path where you roam with alignment…

Badu has never been regulated to an algorithm, she continues to curate her vibe in a world that runs on data. Baduizm to New Amerykah never needed a data push cause her albums were felt by a conscious love and need to connect with her in real time, her music reached out in the form of an analog hug. The joy in my ear is that this album merges eras of R&B and hip-hop in a intimate, direct, conversational piece of art that feels like an extension of the cosmic funk and soul of the 70s and the gritty, rugged hip-hop of the late 90s.

Celestial souls in sound and identity. Badu & Alchemist achieved a feat few have come close to- creating a bridge of a timeless sound that sounds fresh and on the pulse of now. These two creatives have shown us in audio form that artists can grow in age while pushing their sound forward collectively. There are 2 trillion galaxies in our universe (as we know it) and we are lucky enough their sound transmits here within this realm.

Technology becomes dated. Love is infinite and free. Hold on to the things and people you can reach out and feel in this unstable world.

I’m happy because ageism will have to wage a war with Abi & Alan…the creative in me needed this album to hear that when it’s in YOU age can’t cap talent. This is master level construction of song vocally, conceptually and production wise. Alan aka the Alchemist has been one of my favs as a beat maker since the early 2000s and most recently his run with @freddiegibbs , @spitta_andretti and @larryjunetfm notably so for him to merge his sound with Badu was cosmic/sonic icing in my world.

Albums still matter. Humanity still matters. Music chemistry still matters. ✨💯

20 years ago today, Sleepy Brown his first debut album released💽"Mr. Brown" on October 3rd, 2006 by Purple Ribbon Records/Virgin Records. Production was handled by Organized Noize, The Neptunes, Carl Mo, Printz Board and Presidential Productions. The album features guest appearances from Outkast, Pharrell Williams and Joi. Its lead single, "Margarita", peaked at #64 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Brown's production and vocal contributions with OutKast, facilitated through Organized Noize, solidified his reputation in the 1990s. He provided the hook vocals for their 1993 debut single "Player's Ball" from Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, which peaked at number 37 on the Billboard Hot 100. On Stankonia (2000), he co-produced and sang on hits like "So Fresh, So Clean" and "Ms. Jackson," both Grammy-nominated tracks that showcased his ability to merge R&B melodies with psychedelic rap. He described the transition as both a blessing and a challenge, noting that his prior visibility on OutKast tracks like "The Way You Move" helped gain attention but made it difficult to step fully into the spotlight as a solo frontman. Mr. Brown debuted and peaked at number 53 on the US Billboard 200 chart, while reaching number 6 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The album sold approximately 18,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release. By the end of 2006, total US sales had not exceeded 50,000 units. Although it benefited from promotional ties to OutKast's established fanbase, Mr. Brown entered a highly competitive R&B and hip-hop market dominated by major releases in 2006. #RIPRicoWade

Seeing a lot of the Homies the other night at @listeningroomatl had me looking through some old pictures, and I came across this one of me and two of my peoples who inspire and I admire, @saulwilliams & @tennesseeslimkitty . This has to have been around 2005 at my brother and sister @samleccima & @s.dumaurier ‘s penthouse event. Yeah, we were having a good time in the 90s and 2000s. 😎🎶💃🏾🕺🏿
