LOW LIGHT / NO LIGHT SNIPER OPERATIONS

Come join Modern Day Sniper for our Low Light / No Light Sniper Course, focused on preparing law enforcement sniper teams to operate effectively when visibility is limited and the conditions are less than ideal.

Approximately half of documented law enforcement sniper engagements have occurred during hours of darkness. If we expect our teams to be prepared for the problems they may face in the real world, we must train for the conditions in which those problems occur.

This course focuses on the practical application of white light and night vision technology in law enforcement sniper operations. Students will develop a better understanding of their optical systems, explore their capabilities and limitations, and work through the challenges of observing, identifying, and collecting information in low-light environments.

Training will emphasize the importance of visual processing, equipment familiarity, and making sound decisions when visibility is degraded. The goal isn’t simply to see in the dark. It’s to understand what you’re seeing, recognize the limitations of your equipment, and provide reliable information to support the tactical team’s overall mission.

Darkness changes the problem. It shouldn’t be the first time you work through it.

Train with purpose. Understand your equipment. Build capability before you need it.

8 years ago I used to watch photos on Snipers Hide of the Allegheny Sniper Match and then @majorlandsnipercup. I wanted to compete in a team match for years. When Jeff called me asking if I’d do this match with him, it was a no brainer. This one is history for me, @jeffbartonjr and I finished 4th in our second team match together. Big thanks to @atncorp for putting a sweet 640 Core thermal on the prize table! Rifle: @accuracy_international_ltd AT-X. Optic: @zerocompromiseoptic 8-40. Rangefinder: @maztech_industries 15K. Alright folks the 2027 schedule is LIVE!

Check the link 🔗 up above to get yourself registered. For those of you who rate credits for Legacy Library and Masterclass purchases, we’ll be reaching out to you individually with that info. Thank you for being amazing people and customers!🙏

I’m still waiting on a confirmation for Nail Spring Ranch dates - for your planning purposes I’m looking to run another Guided Handloading Experience, an ELR Experience, and a Holistic Hunter’s Experience. Those are all gonna be bad ass!

You can see we’ve got a ton of options for you to choose from, both open enrollment and LE specific classes.

I’m sticking closer to home this year because A. the MDS HQ range is bad ass and growing, and B. I’ve got a ton of other things in the works that I can’t done being all over the place.

MDS Community Days are coming as well, so expect to see that schedule release next week. Those are going to be super fun too.

Get in while you can! More to follow…

First time training with a pistol since my shoulder replacement—9 months ago. Having to relearn some things mechanically (radial nerve & reflexes) and be patient with this process.

Bottom line I no longer have pain in my left shoulder.

Remember, your body will eventually cash in those checks you wrote during your younger years playing Superman 🤪

Target setup:
Cardboard placed at 15 yds
Steel (6”x8”) plates at 25 yds

Be safe and have fun training this weekend 👊🏽
