THE DANCE FLOOR THAT SWITCHED ITSELF OFF

PART 2 — FROM THE GOAL TO THE DJ BOOTH

Together with Ricky, Hernán, Lucas, Leo and Paul, we’d brought Tom Neville over to play Superclub on a Friday, the night of our residency.

His remix of Studio B’s “I See Girls” was playing everywhere.

That track was massive.

Well.
On Saturday, he ended up at Fede’s birthday party at a country house in Maschwitz.

International bookings can take unexpected turns.

All six of us from Feedback were there, along with Brian, Junior—Hugo’s son—Emi and Sandro Guzmán.

Yes.
Sandro Guzmán.

The former Vélez and Boca goalkeeper.

By the time I met him, he was into reggae and Rastafari culture.

What I remember perfectly is his music.

He played the opening set.

And it was one of the reggae sets that moved me most in all these years.

Some selections stay with you long after you’ve forgotten the individual tracks.

That’s what happened with Sandro.

Such a humble guy.
When he finished playing, he stayed and enjoyed the party.

Tom was absolutely delighted too.

I’d had this idea that English people were a little reserved.
That night, I met someone warm, down-to-earth and happy to be there.

You could see how much he was enjoying himself.

Fede was moving to Spain, so nobody missed it.
There must have been about two hundred of us.

Friends, DJs, an award-winning English producer and a former Boca goalkeeper playing reggae.

All that for Fede’s twenty-fifth.

And what stayed with me most was the good feeling among everyone.

Sometimes, years later, you remember a track from a night.
Other times, an image.

From that one, I still remember how happy we all were.

21 year old me would think you were crazy if you told me everything I’ve achieve this year… until this year I’d never been to a festival let alone performed!! I can confidently say this has been the best year of my life (so far 👀) and i genuinely can’t wait to see what the future holds ✨
