🚋 🇬🇧 Another series of tramcars manufactured for Freiburg by MAN arrived in 1914. There were seven tram with fleet numbers 41 through 47. Vehicles from this series were in service until 1966. Car number 42 was transferred to the museum in Marxzell in 1972, while car number 45—shown in the photographs—remained in Freiburg as a museum vehicle. It was used to operate tourist line number 7 and for special trips organized by the local association of Freiburg tram enthusiasts. It is currently awaiting re-authorization for service, as its certificate of technical fitness has expired.

🚞 🇬🇧 The MOB rolling stock fleet also includes various types of passenger carriages. While modern low-floor carriages are increasingly common, traditional ones—particularly baggage cars—are still included in train consists to facilitate the transport of ski equipment in winter and bicycles in summer seasons. The photos show baggage car number BD 205. It was originally built in 1971 as a standard second-class passenger carriage with open platforms. In 1995, it was converted into a second-class carriage with a baggage compartment; this involved enclosing the platforms and extending the vehicle’s length. Since 2012, the carriage has sported the new official MOB livery. It offers 47 seats. Został on wybudowany w 1971 jako zwykły wagon pasażerski klasy II z otwartymi pomostami. W 1995 został przebudowany na wagon II klasy z przedziałem bagażowym. Zabudowano mu pomosty oraz wydłużono. Od 2012 wagon ten nosi nowe oficjalne malowanie kolei MOB. Znajduje się w nim 47 miejsc siedzących. 🚞 BD 205 🏭 FFA/SIG/R&J/MOB 🔑 MOB ⏱ 80 km/h 👶 1971/1995 🔢 RE30 Montreux ➡️ Zweisimmen 📅 11.02.2024 🇨🇭 Montreux #montreuxoberlandbahn #railway #railwaycarriage #wagonkolejowy #railwayinteriors

🚄 🇬🇧 Although the name „Crocodile” primarily brings to mind green locomotives with a distinctive shape, other types of vehicles also bear this nickname. Here, a red Crocodile is seen operating a special shuttle train that transports Depotfest guests from Zurich’s main station. A small series of three „Crocodiles”, designated De 6/6, was ordered by the SBB to haul freight trains on the Seetal railway line between Lucerne and Lenzburg. These locomotives are also known as the „Seetalkrokodil” (Seetal Crocodile) after the line they served. The vehicles were built in 1926; one has been preserved as a historic unit and celebrated its centenary this year.

🚄 🇬🇧 2026 marks a jubilee year for the Ce 6/8 II locomotive—known as the „Crocodile.” This year is the centenary of this series entering service on the Swiss railways. Several themed events were held across Switzerland to commemorate the locomotive. One such event was the Depot Fest in Zurich, which also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Dampfgruppe Zürich association. Other electric and steam locomotives joined in the birthday celebrations for the Ce 6/8 III „Crocodile.” Special guests included other „Crocodiles”: an older Ce 6/8 II class unit, the red De 6/6 class „Crocodile” from the Seetal line (also celebrating an centenary), and a visitor from the Grisons: the narrow-gauge Ge 6/6 I class „Crocodile” of the Rhaetian Railway. W urodzinach Krokodyla Ce 6/8 III wzięły udział inne lokomotywy elektryczne i parowe. Szczególnymi gośćmy były inne krokodyle: starszy krokodyl serii Ce 6/8 II, czerwony krokodyl serii De 6/6 z Seetal (również jubilat) oraz gość z Gryzonii: wąskotorowy krokodyl Kolei Retyckich serii Ge 6/6 I. 🚆 Ce 6/8 III 14305 🏭 SLM/MFO 🏷 Krokodil 🔑 SBB Historic 🛠 (1’C)(C1’) ⏱ 75 km/h 👶 1925 🚆 Ce 6/8 II 13254 🏭 SLM/MFO 🏷 Krokodil 🔑 SBB Historic 🛠 (1’C)(C1’) ⏱ 75 km/h 👶 1919 🚆 De 6/6 15301 🏭 SLM/BBC 🏷 Krokodil 🔑 OeBB 🛠 C’C’ ⏱ 50 km/h 👶 1926 🚆 Ge 6/6 I 415 🏭 SLM/BBC/MFO 🏷 Krokodil 🔑 Rhätische Bahn 🛠 C’C’ ⏱ 55 km/h 👶 1929 📅 20.09.2026 🇨🇭 Zürich, Lokdepot F #krokodile #depot #railwaydepot #ce68iii #crocodilelocomotive

🚌 🇬🇧 More Sprinters in PostAuto livery. This time from the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino. Thanks to their compact size, these Sprinters handle the narrow, winding Alpine roads with ease. The buses typically start their routes at the railway station before fanning out to transport tourists to the trailheads of hiking routes and surrounding villages. 🚍 10891 🏭 Mercedes-Benz 🏷 Sprinter 516CDI 🔑 PostAuto / Barenco & Andreoli 👶 2018 🔢 1️⃣2️⃣4️⃣ Lavorgo, Stazione ➡️ Sobrio 📅 16.05.2026 🇨🇭 Lavorgo 🚍 10685 🏭 Mercedes-Benz 🏷 Sprinter 516CDI 🔑 PostAuto / Barenco & Andreoli 👶 2017 🔢 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ Lavorgo, Stazione ➡️ Chironico, Grumo 📅 16.05.2026 🇨🇭 Lavorgo / Chironico #postauto_carpostal_autopostale #sprinterbus #mountains #mercedesbenzsprinter #mountainbus

🚄 🇬🇧 Due to track work on the railway section between Rüti and Rapperswil SG, the routes of S-Bahn lines S5 and S15 have been shortened. Trains on lines S5 and S15 arriving from the direction of Zurich now terminate at Rüti station, while the S5 service from Pfäffikon SZ runs only as far as Rapperswil SG station. As the renovation work takes place at night and on weekends, trains operate on their regular routes during the day on weekdays. 🚆 Re 450 027 🏭 SLM/ABB 🏷 DPZ 🔑 SBB 🛠 Bo’Bo’ ⏱ 130 km/h 👶 1990 🔢 S5 Rapperswil SG ➡️ Pfäffikon SZ 📅 13.09.2026 🇨🇭 Rapperswil SG #re450027 #dpz #sbahnzürich #railway #kolej

🚌 🇺🇸 Express lines designated with the prefix „X” differ from standard express lines in two ways: first, they are variants of a standard line with the same number; second, they stop only at selected locations along their entire route, whereas standard express lines skip stops only on specific sections of the route. Just as express line 147 (see previous post) has no standard version, line X4 is the express version of line 4. Both lines begin their routes at the Columbus & Randolph stop near Millennium Park in downtown Chicago and head south from there. The X4 runs as far as 95th Street—where a transfer to the Red Line L is available—while the standard 4 continues to 115th Street. The X4 operates only during rush hours, whereas the 4 runs all day/night. The X4 serves only stops at major intersections and subway stations, making a total of 42 stops southbound and 36 stops northbound, while line 4 makes 124 and 126 stops, respectively. 🚍 8526 🏭 Nova Bus 🏷 LFS 🔑 CTA 👶 2023 🔢 ❎4️⃣ 95th ➡️ Columbus & Randolph 🚍 8401 🏭 Nova Bus 🏷 LFS 🔑 CTA 👶 2022 🔢 4️⃣ 115th ➡️ Columbus & Randolph 📅 21.10.2024 🇺🇸 Chicago, Michigan & Washington
