🔥 THE GLORIOUS 14 🔥
UPDATE - thanks to Gavin Pratt (@gavin.pratt50) we had to add Terek. Sorry @terekdoingthings , that we missed your canadian record! The only men in history who broke the mythical 5:40 barrier over 2,000m on the Concept2 RowErg.
5:40 is not “just fast.”
It’s the ultimate fusion of power + endurance.
Nearly 600 watts.
Almost 6 minutes.

No drafting. No tactics. No wind.
Just you — and the truth. This is the gold standard of applied human physiology.
 🏆 The 14 who made it: 🇩🇪 Oliver Zeidler – 5:34.7
🇦🇺 Josh Dunkley-Smith – 5:35.8
🇳🇱 Simon van Dorp – 5:36.4
🇳🇿 Rob Waddell – 5:36.6
🇩🇪 Matthias Siejkowski – 5:37.0
🇷🇸 Nikolaj Pimenov – 5:37.7
🇨🇦 Terek Been – 5:38.2
🇱🇹 Saulius Ritter – 5:39.1
🇧🇪 Ward Lemmelijn – 5:39.2
🇨🇦 Conlin McCabe – 5:39.4
🇬🇧 Mohamed Sbihi – 5:39.4
🇧🇾 Pavel Shurmei – 5:39.6
🇬🇧 Tom George – 5:39.6
🇦🇺 Simon Keenan – 5:39.7
Fourteen men.
Across three decades.
Across continents.
And yes — thanks to Gavin Pratt (@gavin.pratt50) we had to add Terek.
Respect for keeping the record straight. 👊
Why does it matter? Because 2k on the erg is the most brutally honest test in sport. It’s long enough to demand world-class VO₂max.
Short enough to punish you with unbearable lactate.
Heavy enough to expose weakness.
Simple enough to leave no excuses. You don’t hide on the erg. You produce — or you don’t.
Who’s next to join the Glorious 14?
Tag a rower who dreams of 5:39.
