Letter from POET. Dear Heart Camp

Every year you show me something new. This year, you showed me that all I can be is myself, and being “POET” and “Bullettooth Poet” was pretty epic. My heart is filled beyond belief; the love this place shows and gives is like nowhere else on the planet. Here, the impossible becomes possible as “no” turns to “yes” and “I can’t” turns to “I DID!” Overcoming walks right alongside you—how could it not, when all these kids are forged with such resilience!

To my camp family: you know who you are and what you mean to me every single one of you. Thank you for making me feel like the most special person in the world. My birthday was filled with laughs, tears, and love. I am honored to call you all friends, and Heart Camp is truly blessed to have such special people like you.

For the first time in 10 years, I also had the opportunity to be at this place with both my sisters again. We have gone from campers crying because we were homesick to counselors crying because we saw so many dreams come true.
Oh Senior campers you had us all crying. I am proud of you and I got one thing to say. I can’t wait to see you all as counselor one day 🫀🫶🏼
